"We decided to give this place a try. It is overpriced Mexican food. We also were overcharged. Poor customer service. Usually tacos come with red or green sauce. This place charges $1 for the tiny container of sauce. We were charged for 2 sauces but only got 1. It was a hassle to get refunded for the other sauce. The customer service is crappy. Grilled chicken tacos were good. Rice and beans were ok not as good as other restaurants nearby. This place is not worth the hassle. We won't be returning we will just go to another local Mexican restaurant that has better food and service."

"Maiz & Barro has THE best tacos in the Chicago burbs! I can’t say enough good things! The ingredients are consistently fresh, the flavors are outstanding, and the restaurant is so clean. Not to mention the amazing staff! They are always so kind and courteous. You have to try the desserts! They’re homemade and out of this world! Photos are from a take out order, which was equally as good as eating in the restaurant!"

"New new new and Delicioso!!!I wish I could have eaten more! We had the pastor and asada tacos... super tasty! I love that that they do not skimp on quality. They use full size tortillas and pack in the meat so there is no need to add anything else but their delicious salsa! We received wonderful service and the lovely owners were so attentive. This awesome restaurant will certainly be at the top of my new favorites. Can't wait to try more of their food and amazing pastries!"

"I've visited twice since they've opened and let me tell you they have some AMAZING food!!! I strongly recommend stopping in for some Mexican food. Had the tacos and tamales. It was one of the best tamales I've had in a VERY long time. atmosphere is awesome, and they have a lot of cool ideas to keep things light and fun. They even have a full service bar. New owners and I can't say anything bad about this place!"
