"I don't live in the area, but enjoy making shopping trips there. I especially enjoy trying the hot bar prepared foods. They're better than a lot of restaurants. My complaint, though, is the price is really steep now, at $10.99 per pound, and if you try the meat selections, they are huge slices that can add up to a ton of money real quickly. I would just suggest maybe small slices of meat so that people can try them without spending a fortune, because that really seems like what the store is trying to do, put out these huge slices of meat that instantly jack up the price so that when you go to check out, you're really thrown at how much you spent."

"We are a regular customer to Pete's @ Glen Ellyn since it was opened. We bought this Pepperidge farm bagel on sunday the 25th of February afternoon. Around 5 pm, my son wanted to eat it, so I put it in the toaster, and we noticed that it had fungus on it. Then I looked up for the date of expiry label. It was written, sell by 2 feb- 03-24. Amazing, now that we were about to eat and that too around a month old. So, I thought I should bring to light for the community health safety. Although I have seen many times expired bakery items on shelves, I had brought to an immediate notice to the staff and managers before. Serious action must be taken ASAP."

"Great selection of fresh and supermarket groceries. Prepped food nice selection. A little on the pricey side. What I could not understand was to go there on a Wednesday morning at 9 AM and see only one cashier and check out line open and no self check out. With the prices you charge and the amount of business that you do, please do not cheap out on labor."

"1) the fresh produce is always so neatly organized and any old food is promptly removed. They take good care of the stock! 2) the olive bar and bakery have sooo much good food. 3) Halal meats section has EVERY type of meat possible, every kind of cut, even seasoned ones. Highly recommend it for fresh, locally raised, farm slaughtered meats."

"Best grocery store in the area. Huge produce selection, halal meat counter, dynamite hot food selection. Good assortment of unusual foods from all parts of the world, especially robust frozen food assortment with items you cannot find anywhere else. Staff is always friendly and accommodating, hot bar staff especially will cater to your every need. Potato wedges, spinach pie, tamales, and sushi all top notch. Floral department is also delightful with nice big houseplants available."
