Reviews of Five Points Washington
"Went to a Candlelight Concert by Fever here, and had an absolutely lovely time. The building was very open and clean, and the front desk staff were very helpful and friendly."
"Very nice and clean facility. The staff is friendly while you're there and recognize regulars. Those are the positives. The negatives are it's located next to the high school so very often filled with raucous teenagers. Read the contract VERY CAREFULLY because the small-town feel of the place goes out the window anytime you try to deviate from the contract in the slightest; I even had one staff member lie to me that they couldn't not charge me a month because I didn't call and make the request to pause in enough time in advance (I called 48 hours+ in advance). I assume he just didn't want to say that they were going to strictly enforce the terms of the contract. Overall my experience has been soured because of their inflexibility. Will not be renewing membership, will not be going back."
"I am extremely disappointed in the way my husband and I were treated today. We came in hoping to get a membership set up. Initially we saw that there was only 1 young lady behind the counter. She was already helping another gentleman get a membership set up. She gave us a paper to look at while she finished up with him. After we saw the gentleman leave, my husband and I just waited to the side until she was ready to help us. At first we just assumed she eas getting paperwork ready. We really weren't sure. So, we just kept patiently waiting. Like I said, she was the only one behind the counter. While we kept waiting she kept answering people's questions and was directing them to where they needed to go. She really was busy. Then an older lady came to the counter to help out. That's when she helped a lady and her children get signed up for swim classes. While she was doing that, I decided to stand at the counter again just to see how much longer it was going to be. The older lady said, "what do you need? Is it going to be quick?" I then told her that we were hoping to get signed up for a membership. She said that the other young lady would be back soon. So, we kept waiting. The younger girl came back. Still no acknowledgement from either lady. It was about the time where my husband and I were considering just coming back another time that the older lady said, "have you been helped?" We just said that we were told to wait and that we wanted to get a membership set up. The younger lady said very snarkily, "if you'd like a membership, you have to come to this computer over here". Both ladies acted like they didn't even know we were there. We were waiting patiently because we could see that they were busy. The young lady should have said, "ok I can help you over here". She knew we were there to get a membership started and she just very blatantly ignored us. And the older lady pretended like she didn't just speak to me 5 minutes before."
"I'm not from the area but I was at an event hosted at Five Point and was blown away by how amazing the place was. I didn't use most of the facilities but was amazed by what I did see. The staff were all friendly and helpful. We were using meeting rooms but I did see they had a library, gym, pool, and theater. I saw posters advertising many events for the community including a pickleball tournament."
"This is the second dance recital I've attended at Five Points, and it really drives home how much community-need there is for a large, public, well-maintained, multi-use space. Both the staff and facility here are amazing! I personally experienced how an overwhelmed staff kept their cool through a weekend overfull with MLSD Dance Recital, birthday parties, open swim, and a baseball game across the street. Why is the last one relevant? Because the baseball fans were a bunch of rabid savages who took all the parking at Five Points to save themselves a bit of a walk. I witnessed little girls and mothers in tears, grandparents frantically looking for ANY place to park in an unfamiliar community, fathers ready to explode; yet, even in such a horrifically stressful and miserable situation, the Five Points staff not only policed the human menagerie, they also did so in a polite, respectful manner mindful of the persistent rise of COVID-19 infections. For example: my wife lost her phone the evening before during recital and the facility manager was kind enough to provide a guide backstage to where iOS claimed the phone to be. It turned out to be under a very kind person's seat, who called me after I updated the "lost" alert screen. Thankfully, I was easy to locate as I was standing onstage. Personally, I did not see a single staff member who was not wearing a mask; which is good, considering I'm personally aware of the onset of active COVID-19 infections among at least 3 persons who were in attendance on June, 4th 2022. It could be a coincidence, but better that there were masks worn than not. Overall, a fantastic facility with near-perfect execution. (The only flaw I can find is that there isn't a parking control device that will raise spikes into the tires of lazy baseball fans who can't be bothered to think through the downstream consequences of their actions; however, I'm confident this could be achieved with some volunteers from the Sheriff's department kind enough to lend their mobile spike strips)"
