"Lovely place to watch trains pass by. Very busy location, with potential to see several trains in a short period of time."
"We LOVE taking our train loving toddler here for picnics. Also a great place to stop on a road trip. Trains go by all the time. There are heated bathrooms (but there are not changing tables in the bathrooms). Park is handicap accessible. I've never been there when the museum/gift shop is open."
"2023: Free admission, free parking. Souvenir stand/bathrooms open year round (hours vary) Lots of benches and picnic tables, Gazebo gives shade from the sun and shelter from the rain. BNSF/UP scanner frequencies posted, but there's also a speaker which broadcasts scanner info in real time, if you don't have one. Great place for railfanning. Watch the kids; this isn't a park or playground....if you have "enthusiastic railfans" in your group, maybe educate them on photo-line etiquette so they're not running around in front of other people's cameras. Remember also, there's live public web-cams so watch what you say and do. 2018: Free admission, free parking. Little gift/coffee shop open 10-5 six days a week (closed Tuesday). Several covered areas with picnic tables, and a BBQ pit. Not a playground (!!!) But I've seen families here enjoying the trains go by. Nice to just hang out, talk to people, watch BNSF and Union Pacific..."
"What a fun surprise! We were lucky enough to see some trains pass through and chat with a train enthusiast who gave us some history of the rail lines. It was a great pit stop on a long road trip!"
"Cool place, nice stop on way to Chicago. The place was clean and well kept. Solid information there, also good views and a train came through which the kids loved. There is a lot to see but nothing really to do, so it will be a quick stop."
