"Honestly, the school was not that great. Education was decent, helped me get ahead, but everything else was lacking. Uniforms were WAY too strict, having to wear the uncomfortable shirts and the really uncomfortable Dickies khakis pants. The school policies are worse, requiring students to wear idea brand jackets, which are uncomfortable and way too overpriced. The bullying problems are horrible there, i would know as I was a victim. The idea of learning there is far fetched, as learning is overshadowed by watching your back. The teachers are disrespectful and don't care what you think. I have finally moved schools, after 8 years of this torture, to a much better and advanced school. If you have the opportunity, move schools to a better district, one like STISD or maybe even PSJA if you live close enough. I hope you improve the quality of life at your school and make IDEA a tolerable school. Sincerely, an ANGERY and disappointed student."
"The teachers are lacking in experience, and we are practically at a concentration camp. Each child is treated the same, in a bad way. Its almost like the students are robots. I can say from my 6 years of being there, that it only went from a good school, to downhill. I'd recommend free schools that actually care, and are great like south Texas preparatory academy, or a high school in the stisd district. I can say I was not satisfied with the way we were treated, and hope no kid will have to stay in that hell hole for more than a year."
"I'm very disappointed of what the school has become, the staff, the principal, and the rest of the people there have made it different."
"This school is great. Fantastic education and the discipline is amazing. The bullying is minimal and builds character. The teachers are over qualified and passionate. Definitely best school in Texas."
