"The absolute worst salon experience my sisters and I have ever had. The mother and daughter will intentionally try to confuse their clients to keep overcharging them. Mind you we talked to them about prices before coming in. Aside from the money hungriness, Madeline has the nastiest attitude!! She clearly doesn’t know how to communicate with clients or handle business. There are so many makeup artists in Chicago, don’t make the mistake of coming to this trashy place."

From day one they’ve always treated me with respect and my hair with so much tender, love, and care which is very important to me. They not only are an exceptional salon but also go above and beyond to make their customers their number one priority in every service they offer. I’ve pretty much shared every special occasion in my life with them, from my college graduation party to my engagement and wedding and much more and me always leaving satisfied and looking gorgeous! "I have been going to Madelina for hair and makeup for years and have always had a great experience. Coming from someone who always has high expectations, she has always gone above and beyond. She has her signature makeup look and everytime she does my makeup it stays on all day and doesn’t move. Also, the best stylist there is. Madelina gives the best signature blowouts that last me a couple days. I’ve gotten compliments on my hair even on day 3! I can’t imagine anyone else doing my hair and makeup for any of my events big or small. Hiam, has been trimming my hair for 10 years now and I’m very satisfied every time. She listens to what you want and does exactly what you’ve asked for. Hiam’s blowouts are also my favorite. Hiam takes the time to remember your personal style as if she can read your mind about what you want and gives you her opinion on what she thinks will look/suite you the best. Trusting someone to cut my hair has not always been the easiest, but sitting in Hiam’s chair I know I’m in great hands. Hiam also outdoes her self every time she styles my hair for an occasion I have. No one does a better job than her."

"I went to the salon to do my eyebrows and i ended up seeing my mom get yelled at by this girl (i think it was hiams daughter) because she wanted her to put her eyelashes on. Previously I was a bit weirded out that she said “i never do this but I’ll put you the eyelashes for free” but i didnt think it would escalate to the point where she began to yell at my mother for like three minutes. I’m baffled out of my mind by the behavior I witnessed."

"If I could remove that 1 star I would! My sister was the bride in this situation but she wasn’t getting serviced at Hiam’s, we solely went in to book hair and makeup service for my sister’s in laws that would be coming from out of town and relied on the bride to make reservations on their behalf. Right off the bat, Hiam was so offended by the fact that the my sister being the bride wasn’t getting herself serviced at her salon. And went on to roll her eyes and express how she does better hair and better makeup at her salon, we brushed that off and continued to book my sisters in laws for service for the Henna which was 8 people for hair and makeup. 12 people for the wedding which would have been the same 8 people for hair and makeup in addition to including 4 little girls that would only get hair done on the wedding. We paid a total of $800 on deposits for those two days. Our wedding was originally for May but due to a tragic death of a child in the groom’s family the wedding was then postponed for August. We reached out as soon as the wedding was postponed to change the dates booked. The wedding week came around in August and as circumstances don’t always allow for people to attend, some people that made commitments to attending the wedding in May weren’t able to make it for August. We called Hiam to express that the same amount of 8 people for the henna and the 12 people for the wedding would still show because she was getting upset about why the person who initially booked her wouldn’t be able to make it. The Henna had fallen on a Monday and as many would know hairdressers unless booked ahead of time don’t typically work on Mondays. The harassing phone calls that entailed that week were so disturbing that I literally didn’t want to answer the phone. Just so I don’t ruin the experience my sister’s in laws would receive with Hiam I held back so much of my anger and frustration on the phone with her when she went on to say that since the person who booked her is no longer available to show up for the appointment that no matter what if the 8 people show up or not she’s taking the whole deposit and that she doesn’t even want to hear any talk about how much else is owed with the deposit because she’s opening on a Monday and employing people to help her with this bridal party. Might I remind you all that it was literally me and my sister who walked into her salon almost a whole year prior to pay deposits and book this appointment, we just put down the groom’s cousins name because we thought she’d be in the country for the wedding. At the end of this all for the Henna more people that originally booked showed up so she got her moneys worth, and same goes for the wedding more than the initial 12 people showed up. And she took the whole deposit of $800 that she did not include in their bill. This was literally the most disgusting service we’ve ever encountered and would never want this to happen to anyone else. I had previously had a great experience with only Hiam’s daughter doing my makeup and that was literally the only thing that brought us back to book my sister’s in laws here. Otherwise I would never have done this to them to where they’re be treated this way and on top of all of this she took their $800 deposit that now I feel responsible for because we recommended this unprofessional individual, please do yourself the biggest favor and find someone else who is professional, yes hair and makeup for weddings can get pricey but it’s better than being treated like trash when you’re still paying for the service. I went ahead to advice all of my family members who go to Hiam to stop going to her because of this traumatizing service!"
