"***Granite Heroes stole $1300 of my (Labradorite) stone, sold it to someone else, and repeatedly lied about it. They also ignored and disrespected me on numerous occasions.*** I know two other people who have hired Granite Heroes and both have also had bad experiences with them. Among other things, Granite Heroes has also stolen some stone from BOTH of them, lied about it, and also re-sold it to other customers. Granite Heroes has a side business of reselling the leftover stone from its customers without their knowledge or permission. They did this to me, despite the fact that I told Rick Peyton (the owner) multiple times explicitly in writing that I intended to use ALL of my stone. As a result, I was unable to complete my renovation project and will now need to buy a whole new slab for $5,400 to be able to compete it. I believe that my two acquaintances who used Granite Heroes also had stone they intended to use stolen and resold without their permission, among other issues. I would strongly advise anyone considering hiring Granite Heroes NOT to do so. But if you do end up hiring them, measure the dimensions of your stone in advance and measure any stone that they cut and install for you, so that you know exactly how much of your stone they should have left. I believe that they prey upon people who do not measure their stone and just take on faith that it “ran out.” In my case, when I confronted Billy Lyerla (the president) about my missing stone, he first claimed that it had never existed. After that, I showed him the measurements as well as written proof that it had existed. In response, he told me that maybe some of my stone had been defective and they had had to throw it away. He also told me that their machine which fabricates their stone wastes 6” of stone with every cut, which would also explain why the amount of stone they returned to me was much smaller than the amount they had started with. Both of these statements are provably lies, intended to make me doubt myself and give up (out of my lack of knowledge of the fabrication process). Frankly, I am disgusted by this kind of behavior and want to do everything in my power to make sure that Granite Heroes does not continue to take advantage of other people. I hope that this review will help prevent some people from being cheated as I was. To this end, I am currently filing a complaint with the BBB against Granite Heroes, as well as taking them to Small Claims Court. I am confident that I will receive a judgement against them in court. I have written proof directly from Rick Peyton (the owner) that they stole my stone, as well as multiple other forms of evidence and an expert witness. I’m honestly surprised that they did not settle with me and forced me to take it this far, considering how much evidence I have against them. P.S. I want to respond to the owner's completely dishonest reply to this review. All of my claims in my review are 100% accurate. I HAVE DEFINITIVE WRITTEN PROOF DIRECTLY FROM THE OWNER THAT HE IS LYING. I have added a photo of an email to me from Rick Peyton, the owner, which says that they had TWO pieces of my stone remaining. They only returned ONE piece to my new fabricator. The other one, they stole and resold. I attempted to ask Rick directly about this missing piece several times and he ignored me every time (I think the reason for that is pretty clear). If I need to, I can attach proof of that as well. So I then asked the president of Granite Heroes, Billy Lyerla, who lied and claimed that the piece had never existed. When I presented evidence that the piece had indeed existed, Billy lied two more times and said that some of the stone was likely damaged to begin with and had to be thrown away and that their fabrication machine wastes a great deal of stone with every cut. The attached email is just one of several pieces of pretty definitive and pretty damning evidence that I am looking forward to presenting against Granite Heroes in court."
"Great craftsmanship !"
