"If you value your well being, find another doctor!! This woman, Dr. Castillo, has no bedside manners and jumps down your throat for asking questions. I would never recommend her under any circumstances. Sad she is still practicing medicine."
"Dr. Castillo delivered me back when I was born in 1997. I was flipping through my baby book and found her name and saw that she was still practicing. After seeing other reviews I thought I would also share my story- I was born with a staph infection that occurred due to the use of a scalp electrode monitor. I was a very sick baby and was sent home on IV antibiotics. The CDC investigated my case and my mother was not a carrier of the infection. Another baby delivered by Dr. Castillo a week later also developed a staph infection but did not make it. I am now 25 years old and about to graduate from nursing school. Every nurse I’ve ever talked to is baffled that I was sent home and not cared for in the NICU or at least the hospital. I understand that mistakes can happen and people can change and grow throughout their careers but I want other expecting mamas to be aware of what happened in case it’s still happening to others. I am lucky to be alive."
"I had read many bad reviews before going but I decided to try anyway because maybe she wouldn’t be so bad. I was wrong! I addressed some concerns and questions i had but she didn’t seem to care. I was very nervous because I was gonna get a pap she did not try to comfort me because I was very jumpy. She was very impatient. She was very aggressive with it so I was tense the whole time. I could not hold back tears when she left the room. It felt like she was in a rush to get the appointment over with. She just does not make a patient feel comfortable which is the number one quality a doctor should have."
"Just have to say that this woman is not a kind or understanding person. Seeing a medical professional one hopes doctors have the best medical interest for there patients. Well for my wife this was the complete opposite. Without going into much detail my wife sees other specialists for other medical reasons. When she saw Castillo, an OB which is her “specialty”, thought it best to take on all my wife’s care and that she was an expert on all other matters and aspects of her other health issues unrelated to obstetrics & gynecology. Not once but twice my wife left with tears after her appointment with this woman for berating her and saying that everything my wife is doing is going to cause a miscarriage. Personally I would not recommend this woman to practice for one’s OB needs. My last advice to the reader or someone who is trying to find a Physician. Make sure whoever it is you see has the best medical interests in there views, not just physical but mentally and emotionally. Thankfully this is America where people can pick there own doctors that make a person feel good and heard. So don’t ever feel like there are no other alternatives or just stuck with a certain physician because more times than not other physicians are more than willing to take on new patients and give the best medical care they can provide."
"I took my 17 year old daughter for a 3 month followup for her medication. This woman walked in and without even greeting us scolded my daughter for having her mask not pulled up high enough. While we’re were in the common areas, both my daughter and I had nose and mouth fully covered. While in the private room with the door closed, my daughter had adjusted her mask momentarily but still covering mouth and nostrils. Dr. Castillo lectured her saying, “no matter where you are in this building you’ll keep your mask fully up. There are pregnant people walking around here and you’re breathing everywhere.” Shocked, my daughter and I just looked at each other. She quickly reviewed the medication questions. My daughter was so embarrassed by the scolding she didn’t even feel comfortable answering her questions but stammered through it. My daughter then tried to tell her that she is waiting on test results from her primary care doctor, due to having health issues the past month. As soon as my daughter said one of those tests we were waiting on was a mono test, the doctor interrupted and said, “oh, and you’re in here breathing all over my things!” I cut in and explained that my daughter had been tested for Covid and many other things, including diabetes, leukemia, anemia etc. and was negative. I explained to her that her office policy would allow me to remove my mask because I’m fully vaccinated however, just weeks ago I had a horrible Covid case and by her own policy I could have exposed “all the pregnant people walking around here”. . Mono is not an airborne illness. Our main question to her was, would this medication she prescribed contribute to the symptoms my daughter has been having for a month that we were actively seeking answers to. She rudely dismissed the question and was completely preoccupied with a mask being 1 millimeter down the bridge if my daughters nose in a private room, with the door closed, before she even came in. She had no regard for the information that my daughter has had fatigue, pale skin, swollen lymph glands etc. for a month. No patient should ever be treated like this “doctor” treated my daughter. If she felt like the mask needed to be higher she could have politely asked for it to be adjusted. We were being compliant with office policy and didn’t deserve this treatment. We will be finding a new care provider. I wouldn’t recommend this rude, tactless, uncaring, provider to an enemy."
