"I have been a patient of Forbes, for 25 YEARS. On 10/28/23 I had to have my permanent retainer glued back in after 1 year and 3 months. It fell out after 8 days. When I called instead of getting the answering service to leave a message, I got "the party you are trying to reach is not accepting calls". Forbes blocked my phone # from getting through to his office. I emailed the AOL. Email address to explain the situation. That was the ONLY form of communication, minus one VM from my work line that was able to get through. I just kept forwarding the same email, during business hours, PRAYING that anyone would contact me. At the time of service, I paid with 2 cards-HSA and then my CC. 11/9 I see a post refunding me. I NEVER ONCE requested a refund. NO ONE CALLED ME, NO ONE FROM HIS OFFICE SAID A WORD TO ME. They were getting my emails, requesting a new appointment date, refunded the WRONG card, and I wanted my permanent retainer to be permanent, and fixed free of change because it lasted 8 days. 10 days after not hearing from anyone, my father stopped by his office. It was 2:15 on 11/14, Forbes was not there, nor his billing manger-Collin. My father put me on the phone with a "hygienist" and she just explained that she could get me in on 12/3, and booked the appointment. This was at 1:53pm. She had no answers as to why my number was blocked, my emails ignored, and the wrong card to be refunded without contacting me. Instead of doing the RIGHT, PROFESSIONAL thing, I was blocked and ignored. A professional orthodontist would be apology, and want you to come in right away to rectify HIS practices mistake, but NOT him. On 11/4 at 3:20pm Forbes calls me, and says that they refunded me my money-to the wrong card, and there are a lot of reasons that the retainer could have fallen out. He then told me that he thought "I should find a place closer to Chicago". I told him that I was confused why he blocked my number, why my voicemail from work was not returned, why no one returned my emails, and I am being refunded on the wrong card when I have an appointment 12/3. He repeated the same context "I think it would be better if your found somewhere closer to Chicago". I point blank reminded him that we have known each other for 25 years, and I do not know what I did wrong, and he was lacking empathy and apology on his end toward the situation. I asked him point blank TWICE "so you are telling me after 25 years you do not want me coming to your practice?" No answer. Finally, I just asked what I did wrong, I can apologize and fix it, and it won't happen again, because I was almost in tears and so confused as to what happened, what was going on, and why there was a 10-day delay. His response: your demeanor towards my answering service. I asked him "what answering service, you blocked my number, ignored my emails, tell me exactly who your answering service is that I never spoke to was, or who answered their emails (that is the only thing I could think of). Again, silence. I told him the tech already set up my appointment for Saturday, and if he isn't professional enough to tell me what I did wrong, who I supposedly spoke to, or what I specially said, that he, himself as the owner of his own practice cannot tell me after 25 years why he doesn't want me there, or give me any example SO I CAN FIX IT, then cancel the appointment. He couldn’t cancel it fast enough. He then claimed that he would refund me the correct card, and has yet to do so. What I gathered from my years there: they are not up-to -date on equipment needed, NO ONE in that building will call you back unless it's after 2 weeks and a family member physically goes in, THEN Forbes will call you, and give you no direct answers or justification for his unprofessional practice. Forbes refunds, blocks your number, ignores your emails, and then calls you after and doesn't even know I had an appointment set up for the next week. If this is how you would like to be treated, become a long-term patient."
