"Lots to see n do on a Saturday afternoon in Old Town Albuquerque. We are from out of town and walking around seeing everything was interesting. Great friendly people."
"Always nice to come down here but things have definitely changed on Christmas Eve. Bright lights on everywhere instead of you being able to see the luminarias really well, and every single store down here sells the exact same stuff as the one next to it. There used to be different stuff in each one. The famous blue light alley is barely anything to look at anymore because they've had the bright white lights on that drown out the blue ones for the last 2 years. The ridiculously huge Christmas tree is no more and now there's a moderate sized Christmas tree over there. Just doesn't feel like Old Town for Christmas Eve anymore."
"Things were quiet and quaint during our brief late afternoon visit. The shopkeepers and locals were friendly and welcoming. We're only sorry we'll miss the Christmas Walk on Friday. I bet the holiday lights and decorations will just be icing on the cake."
"We visited in early November, once on a Thursday and then on a Saturday. On Thursday early in the afternoon, we could actually park on the square, very convenient, we walked around, saw the arts and crafts store, then headed to Rattle Snake Museum which was fun. Shops farther from the main square offer better deals. A very fun place to walk around. On Saturday we had to park in the parking (Old Town Plaza) but the price was not that bad, we headed to Flying Road Runner bakery, then walked around, always nice and pleasant. There are wine tasting places for the grown ups, I was with my 10 year old and a puppy. Very pleasant place for the puppies too, because all the shops allow you to visit inside with your pet. On Saturday, there was a very interesting antique car show. My suggestion: if you have time go at least twice, once during the quiet period (week days), once during the busy times of weekends. We enjoyed going where it was sunny and warm during the mid-day period. I can imagine walking during the evening and dark has its own advantages too."
