"A lot of construction going on so they didn't have much displays on the lower floor but got to meet several of the workers and they were awesome. Watch several of the videos as well. Went upstairs and seen the Lego display. It was tremendously awesome but even more so when the workers told us how it came to be and how fast the people put together some of those sets. It was quite fantastic. Recommend bringing the family as it would have to be interesting for the children. Update. Got to come here for a meeting held in the upstairs old courtroom. Took advantage of being able to see all the new exhibits that they had throughout the museum. Also had a tour of the building. They were able to passionately show so many neat things about the building and its Heritage and how it got built and put together and how it was in days gone by. Was so interesting. Really enjoyed it and recommend others to come. Plan to come back so that I have more time reading all of the details on some of the exhibits that I didn't get to."
"Very well done museum!! Tons of great information about the area. Loved the honesty and transparency about the past. They did it very well."
"Visit the bookstore! Loved reading the history of the courthouse."
"The museum is currently under renovation when we visited on 5/13/22 which is the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5, but they had 1 room of artifacts open and the walls were filled with posters and pictures of the history of Brazoria. It was all fascinating to learn the history. But what was particularly interesting were the stories of how African Americans were subjected to work on plantations and also how they were punished if they did not do as the plantation owners asked them to do. I highly recommend visiting this museum because the stories presented do not hold back on truth."
"Disappointed. The website said said the beginning of Texas, there was very little. It also said war history, there was a gas mask, torpedo and one thing of war history. I had my pregnant daughter in law with me spent more time waiting for her to go to the restroom."
