"Fitted for a new pair of boots and was advised to install new orthotic inserts. It made a world of difference as the pain in my foot and knee has diminished significantly."
"I had no idea what to look for except knowing I needed boots rated for Canada. The gentleman (apologies I forget his name) was so kind and thorough. He walked me through the options- and features and benefits of one over another. He also suggested some orthotic inserts (which were on sale) that really made the boots perfect! I appreciate his patience and knowledge."
"Great customer service from both your employees in store. Good variety of product as well."
"Having never been to a Red Wings before, I walked into the store and was immediately greeted. The man was the GM, who explained where to look for what and explained all of the selections. I was very happy with the knowledge of the product and his sincere desire to help me get the right boot. He walked me through each boot I liked, the pros and cons and I left spending $350 happy. Great product and awesome service. I would highly recommend.! Matt Foley"
"EDITED from 1 Star to 2 Stars: The first review can be read below. For reasons of the star increase please read further below. [First Review 1 Star] VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. READ THE RETURN POLICY ONLINE AND BE INFORMED [BEFORE] YOU BUY SHOES AT THIS LOCATION. Bought some boots that were supposed to be oil/slip resistant and they were not. I work in a restaurant where hard/steel toe boots are a plus and even better if they are slip/oil/water resistant. Although these boots claim they are, they didn’t stand up to one 8 hour shift at work. Upon returning to this store I was told I couldn’t receive any store credit/trade/return on the “Irish Setter” style of boot because the were “used and had scuff marks.” Wasn’t aware of this rule and wasn’t notified beforehand or else I would have thought twice before buying and using them. The attendant I had the displeasure of meeting with today wasn’t the one who sold me the boots but he made no attempt to fix or offer any type customer service even though the boots didn’t perform they way they are marketed as. Luckily my employer has cameras and I will be be looking for and submitting video proof to an attorney if customer service doesn’t reach back out to me. I was constantly slipping/sliding at work, which in a restaurant is very dangerous as we work with knives, hot pans, grills, boiling liquids, and move in a fast paced environment. There is a clause on the Redwing website for returns having to do with discomfort, don’t know if it applies to the utility/use of the boots due to the fact that I was sliding at work and it was hazardous to me and my coworkers. Do not use these boots in a restaurant environment. I would probably recommend these for outside work as they do have deep treads. But now I’m out on over $200 and have boots that I don’t need, don’t work for what I need them for, and unfortunately can’t trade or return. [Second Review: Star increase from 1 to 2 Stars] I was FINALLY able to return the boots, but it wasn’t until after I had complained two times, and then written the first review that my situation was even considered. Had to travel to this location a total of 3 times. Gave them a 1 Star increase because after the review, they gave me a number which I called and was told they understood my situation and would fully refund my purchase no questions asked. It felt good to be understood but I had to fight for it. It shouldn’t have to be this hard for customers to be understood. Once I arrived I was treated with respect from a different employee. He showed me other boots that were specifically for the restaurant industry (since he had worked in restaurants before he knew what I was looking for) which I probably would have bought if they had been recommended at first. My impression is that the person who tended to me this time had more experience working, knew his boots, and knew how to treat people with respect and understood that people are there to buy expensive but quality boots. I would probably go back again but my experience left me quite disappointed. My father has been using Red Wing boots for decades in the landscaping/tree removal business and they’re for sure quality boots that have saved his toes and feet many times over. I hope Red Wing makes changes to improve customer service such as informing their customers of return policies or lack of them, because this greatly influences our purchases. I hope they train their employees on boot recommendations and better customer service. The young man I bought the boots from at first was a great attendant, if he knew his boots more or was better trained I would’ve had a better experience and maybe even be wearing Red Wings at work. The second attendant didn’t help at all, the third knew his boots and was was very respectful. I’ll consider giving Red Wing another try in a few years after my current shoes are no longer functional."
