"Lake Meredith and Alibates are basically the same NPS unit. The Alibates visitor center is well off the beaten path, and pretty small, but the area is beautiful and they have interesting interpretive displays and a movie worth watching. The center itself is well maintained and staffed with very friendly rangers. Several trails throughout the area to explore."
"Small national monument. If you want to actually see the quarry, you need to book in advance. However we went during the summer and the tour was cancelled due to the heat. If you are visiting Lake Meredith, its worth a visit, but not worth making a special trip for. There is not much other than the visitor center and the quarry, though there are a few hiking trails, such as down to the lake, but that has receded quite a bit."
"Beautiful place. Love our National Parks System, and this one did not disappoint. Took a tour with our Scouting crew and got a good hour hike in! Also learned some interesting things about the Antelope Creek people, and the various ways flint was harvested and made into tools/weapons. Being surrounded by nature always makes learning more fun."
"Had a great tour given by Ron who is an awesome ranger who knows all there is to know about the history of the site. Definitely worth a stop if your in the area to see a site where native Americans collected flint."
"I had hoped to take a few night images from the area but the overcast skies kept me grounded. I took advantage of this to explore the area, heads down, to see what's there. I like macro photography so there are many options for that type of work, plus some cool roads through the area to access various forms of nature. Can't wait to come back in the spring"
