"This is the old alignment curve of highway 27 (now the canyon E-way) this used to be a 4 lanes boulevard style road with no turning lane. In the 1960's the state highway department leveled hundreds of homes and dozens of streets to build their new sunken highway. Today this is all that remains of old us highway 27. There are a few cool 1930's buildings and a service station from the 1910's but unfortunately the buildings are all in rough condition and essentially forgotten about. One of the old motels has been turned into apartments as well."
