"We bought a five year old N&B house and have been very disappointed in the quality of workmanship. The most glaring problem is the framing for the roof. We kept hearing a banging (popping) noise in our living room. My son came over and we went into the attic to investigate. We were really disturbed at what we found. About ten feet of one of the main 2x8 headers, which hold up the roof rafters, had come loose and was hanging down on the end about six inches. The 2x4 brace (which helps hold up the 2x8) had came loose and was hanging off the point where it had been braced. My son took one of the boards and moved it up and down and we could see the roof moving in that spot. If the brace on the other side had came loose, the whole section could have fell onto the ceiling. You can see a sag in the roof from outside. We braced the roof the best we could. A one year warranty should be thrown out the window on a major issue like this but N&B doesn't care. A reputable company should take pride in their work but that's not the case here. Other issues show the quality of work is not there. The master bathroom door will not shut because the striker plate was not installed properly. The texture on a lot of the walls and ceilings is worse than in the manufactured home that I just sold. The dishwasher was installed at a big angle. The bottom was in more than two inches than the top. There was a hole around the dryer vent where bugs or mice could get in. When the hot water in the guest bathroom begins to warm up the wall behind the mirror cracks so loud it sounds like the wall is breaking apart. Some of these may be small issues but they show poor workmanship from N&B homes."

"I’m not sure where to even begin with this post, but we are incredibly dissatisfied with N&B and will not purchase another one of their homes or recommend them to anyone. We purchased our home a year ago and just had our warranty walk through. There are so many things on our list that were put together haphazardly and overall half way done. Ranging from no paint above every single door, electrical problems, a curved wall, and a fence that doesn’t even attempt to follow our property line. The only thing that was addressed was the lack of paint. It seemed as if the solution for every problem was, “well we might make it worse if we try to fix it” or “that’s just going to be that way.” However, my biggest grievance is the fence. They admitted they gave their workers the measurements for the house next door and that is why our fence is placed about 3 feet in from the property line. They then tried to console us with, “well it is still your property you can use it.” How exactly would we utilize that stretch of property? We have asked to be reimbursed for the materials that we paid for that were not utilized (fence posts, sprinklers, sod, labor costs, etc). We were again told no. Today during the walk through we continually asked for a reason as to why these problems could not be addressed and every time it was ‘I don’t know” or “We just aren’t going to do anything about that.” Has anyone else had similar issues? If so, how did you get them resolved, if you did?"

"I've been in my N&B home for a year and a half now and I've had several positive experiences with Tommy and his crew. Recently, I needed help with my AC unit and subsequently touch up painting. Everything went smoothly on the admin end and the painters did an excellent job too. I really appreciate their willingness to help me considering my one year warranty is up. Home ownership can be stressful but N&B folks have been great!"

"In response to the response we received below, N&B was fully aware of our issues with the windows in the front of my house. They told us to use pledge and wax. Jet actually stopped by and sprayed pledge after prying one of the windows open. Needless to say, that does not work. I have ALL emails and ALL text messages proving they had knowledge of this issues from a few weeks after we moved in. Even the cheapest of windows company’s offer a 3-5 year warranty on windows. DO NOT TRUST THIS BUILDER If you would like to correct this problem, I would be happy to revise my review. N&B has our contact information and can definitely reach out to correct the issue."

"N&B does not follow up with anything. When we bought the home we pointed out a bunch of cracks in our home; outside and inside. Alex’s response there is one type on concrete, concrete that cracks. And refused to fix anything. I’ve called multiple times trying to get things fixed. It’s either no response of a out of luck type. Emily was very rude on the phone with me. The roofs are made with 2x4 and will not be able to handle this wind and snow for long. All in all their homes look nice but fall apart once they get their check. I will not buy from them again."
