"Stopped by for a couple days of 5/5 big o. Room and staff are solid. But … regs make for a bad experience. This was the 4th poker room I played at in Texas and the only place I had a bad time. Go to another room with friendlier players. TLDR of my experience: some regulars are unpleasant and aggressive towards new players/visitors. Avoid unless you like conflict. My experience: Unfortunately the local regs are anything but welcoming to new players. Upon returning from a short break someone not in the game was in my seat sprawled over my stuff and my chips (I think his name is Coffee?). I very politely told him I didn’t think it was appropriate for him to sit in a stranger’s seat the way he was. He stood up and asked if I thought he intended to steal my chips. I very clearly said “no, I just think it’s inappropriate”. At that point he started to harass me and was clearly trying to pick a fight. I largely ignored him in an attempt to avoid conflict but it didn’t help. He started saying that he would “slap me” at which I called for the floor. He is significantly larger than me and has an intimidating physical presence. When the supervisor arrived, this player repeated his threats countless times—even adding darker ones (“you don’t know what I can do to you”)—and repeatedly refused to leave the property despite managrment’s insistence. It took 4 or 5 security officers surrounding him for at least 15 minutes of this drama before he finally left (along w 3 of his friends in the game who were defending his utterly inexcusable behavior). I felt very uncomfortable and intimidated until he left. To my surprise, he was there the next day and repeatedly slandered me (saying I called him a thief which was clearly untrue), creating a very hostile environment. I have extremely thick skin and refuse to be bullied so I stayed and played on principle. But I think most people would find the experience intolerable. Another new player (Robert from Minnesota) experienced a milder but still inappropriate level of intimidation from a different player the first night as well."
