"Great family run restaurant with home cooked meals. My favorite is the Hurricane with bacon and choice of home fries or hash browns with toast."
"Absolutely the best service, atmosphere and food! A must if you’re in the area. ♥️"
"Best breakfast in town! Homemade biscuits and gravy. Friendly service in a classic small town diner atmosphere. They also have a fantastic burger if you're not in the mood for breakfast."
"I swear only Iowa has diners like this. You know the kind where you walk in and feel like you just stepped into someone’s home. It’s grandmas old table and chairs, family pictures on the wall, bowls and rolling pins on a bakers shelf in the corner and oldies playing in the kitchen with someone singing along as she cooks. This is clearly family run. We got there within an hour of them closing and our waitress was “ducking out” because she had a hair appointment but it’s ok because “mom would run the food”. No big deal. BTW-they aren’t joking about what time they take their last orders and I understand why. It did take some time for our food to come. It was just mom/grandma aka the best home cook making the food. There is no prep line or sous chef here. You legit get homemade, from scratch straight from the kitchen food. Just like mom makes. Or like moms used to make. So be patient. Good food made with love will take longer than you might want it to but let me tell you. It was worth it."
"Just like grandma’s. I was a little nervous when the first thing to greet me into the restaurant was an aggressive hand written sign on the door about the rules of eating there, which deepened to concern when I walked in and it looked like someone was living in the dining room. There’s dusty clutter everywhere including racks of clothing. Still, I had been curious about this place for a while so put in my order when a waitress eventually got to me. My food came out on a dirty plate, greasy with fingerprints and a hair. I have a dog so I probably eat tons of it, I just swept the hair off and ate. The food was amazing. Everything was clearly home made, the biscuits especially were moist and buttery. The gravy was perfectly seasoned, and the sausage was generously portioned hand formed patties. Overall a strange experience. The cook was singing along with old country music for most of my meal. I probably won’t go back but if you’re craving a walk home experience it fits the bill."
