"I requested an independent consultation from Dr. Shapira and I received what would be better called an educational lecture with demonstrations. The consultation was $300 and 90 minutes long. I expected the consultation to include a review of all my previous test results (he opted to exclude the MRI from his review, for some unknown reason), a specific diagnosis with severity/degree of disease noted, a prognosis, and treatment plan, with all this to be written/documented so that I could take it elsewhere, if needed. Instead, I received a stack of pamphlets with articles he’d written and the costs of the treatment he wanted to provide (tens of thousands of dollars). I was told I could follow up with any questions, but 4 emails went without response until I called the office manager, and then I received an email from Dr. Shapira’s assistant, Kelly, who said she didn’t understand what I was requestingt. She said there wasn’t ‘much to say’ about the diagnosis, that they couldn’t provide a prognosis, and that they do not know if all or any of my symptoms would be alleviated by their treatment. I went to Dr. Shapira because he is very knowledgeable and supposedly experienced with treatments, and was very disappointed with the consultation and subsequent response that included recommending treatment without knowing if it would work. I have no documentation from the consultation and they refuse to provide that basic information which has always been provided in writing by any other medical consultation I have received. I would not recommend Dr. Shapira for any services."
