"BEWARE of the Dr. Pendleton / Dr Bakshi Dental Office in Western Springs. I contacted them to obtain a digital copy of my dental records and was told it would be a fee of $130.00!! When I informed the office of Code of Civil Procedure 735 ILCS that specifically limits excessive fees to obtain medical and dental records in the State of Illinois, I was told that since they are a health care provider and not a health care facility, that statue does not apply (this is absolutely untrue). I don’t mind paying a reasonable fee within the law, but this is unethical and illegal. Just want to warn others when choosing a dentist that this office has unethical practices. I have filed a complaint with the Illinois Department of Professional and Financial Regulation. I am glad I am leaving that practice."
