"Had an appointment set for over 2 months as a new patient (regular cleanup and x-rays). I was told to get there 30 minutes prior to my appointment, which I did. I arrived to find the door locked, I called twice and the answering machine said the office was currently closed though I had confirmed my appointment multiple times and even received a reminder text the same morning. I went next door to the other business and they confirmed that I was using the right entrance and that it was weird since she could see the owner's car in the parking lot. I decided to wait in my car, rather than the freezing cold and waited until it was closer to my appointment time. I had never seen the dentist as I was a new patient, but I thought it may be him when I saw him drive away. I then saw a girl park and unlock the office door so l decided to try again and the door was locked again. I then called for a THIRD time and she finally opened the door and told me, "the doctor wasn't here so you'll have to wait." I waited close to 10 minutes until she decided to give me paperwork. I didn't get to finish it when she told me to go to the back. I was scrambling to fill it out and the dentist (who was the same man from the parking lot), told me that because I was late, I wouldn't be able to get my dental cleaning done, only the x-rays. I told him everything that happened, but he didn't care and was rude about it. Throughout him taking x-rays, he was saying passive aggressive comments about my profession, where I live, and that he doesn't think Mexico has x-rays. I thought, is this a joke? I mentioned this because I had previously gone to reputable dentists in Mexico City and he potentially needed past x-rays of mine (even though he's taking some now so what's the point?) but that comment was very out of pocket and not funny. The whole time I felt like an inconvenience and I didn't have to waste my time for someone who doesn't take their clients seriously. Not to mention, I was the ONLY client in the building. I took time out of my work day to go sit in a chair and listen to inappropriate comments. Needless to say, I will NOT be returning. I don't go out of my way to leave reviews, but this terrible experience really merited it."

"After reading some of the comments on here, I was a little nervous to see this dentist. However, my visit turned out to be fantastic - new patient exam and cleaning ( $0 out of pocket with HMO). Did the dentist have a bold sense of humor - Yes Do I believe that Dr. Hilo is an excellent dentist - Yes Did the dentist almost spend an hour cleaning my teeth - Yes Did he make sure that I had a great + painfree experience - Yes Would I recommend my friends and family visit this office - Yes I give this dentist top marks - not recommended if you are uptight and have no sense of humor - this dentist will keep you on your toes. Thank you Dr. Hilo!"
