Reviews of Sky Dental Care
"Nice employees, the place definitely needs a good paint job and new flooring as it is run down."
"GREAT EXPERIENCE! Best dentist ever. Dr. Patel was really friendly and caring."
"Absolutely love Dr. Patel and her staff. We have been coming to her office for over 8 years. She and all the ladies here have always had so much patience, kindness, and professionalism. I always refer them to everyone I know, even those with young children. I will never go anywhere else, hands down the best dentist we have ever had!"
"Sky Dental Care has a friendly staff; Dr Patel treats her patients in an excellent and caring manner."
"I just left Sky Dental and so called Dr. Vilpa Patel at 10404 S. IL Rout. 31 in Carpentersville Il. It was the worst dental experience of my life. I was lied to, mistreated and my dental needs ignored. She is awful! She said she was incapable of doing Root Canals and that my insurance (that she takes) and (referred me to her) Blue Cross Blue Shield, for a Root Canal and any other dental work, would not pay her what she would like to have. Even if she new how to do Root Canals. Yet she decided to take the insurance but be selective with who she will accept it from or not. I asked her if she was denying me treatment and her answer was yes. I got a list of excuses, such as how hard it is, how long it takes, how little money she makes and my age. I had to have the Root Canal done at a place she referred me to that did not take my insurance, leaving me with the financial burden that should have been covered by my Insurance if Vilpa Patel hadn't just sent me away. The pain was finally gone but not my suspicions of Vilpa Patel when it came to patient's like myself that don't happen have the worlds highest paying insurance. That was my 1st experience with her. Today my suspicions were confirmed, Amnesia again. I arrived on time.I thanked her for the earlier referral to have the Root Canal done and she did a very hurried examination of the 15 teeth I have remaining so she could bill the insurance company for something easy knowing all along that she was never going to do a single thing to help me. I made the appointment because of pain from an abscess tooth. During the examination a second abscess was found in the lower front in the form of a very sensitive bulge at the outside base of one of my front lower teeth, I don't remember the number. Then we started talking about why I was there. As I began to explain she kept interrupting me, once, then twice prompting me to ask her if I could please finish my sentences. Rude to say the least, she rolled her eyes and finally let me finish. We ended up talking about and agreeing upon many things that needed to be done with an end goal of a partial for the top and also a partial for the bottom. Then she told me that starting July 1st. my insurance had begin to cover partials. I was elated. Then came the bad news, just as I suspected would happen! I needed number 12 extracted and she suddenly said I don't do extractions unless the tooth is in a child and is already loos and falling out. This, only moments after discussing a number of extractions I would need to achieve my goal of having partials. At one point during the examination I asked her a question and when I didn't get an answer I looked back and she was gone. She just left me reclined back in the examination room, alone and completely baffled. After a while I got up and walked down a short corridor only to find her in a back room getting something to eat out of the refrigerator with the dental assistant. I asked her what happened and why she walked away and then she started telling me that in her practice she can only do miner fillings and cleanings. Nothing else. She denied me any and all treatment for a second time, only saying that she doesn't do that work. All the while snickering and giggling with the dental assistant who told me that the dentist didn't like doing hard work. Finally a truthful answer out of somebody in that office. In my opinion this so called dentist is a disgrace to the dental profession. Never have I seen such a blatant disregard for a patients needs and wellbeing. I will be following up with the American Dental Association and any other governing body I can find to help prevent this from happening to anyone ever again, at least in her office. Wish me luck and stay away from Vilpa Patel. Who knows what else is going on at that place?"
