"The services I received at Dekalb Dental Group were phenomenal. From the front desk staff Susan, Amy, and Judy are very kind and courteous when checking in. Renee was awesome as she was concerned that she was hurting me as she scanned for my liners. Dr Nguyen was excellent in diagnosing me as a candidate for invisalign. Awesome group of people."
"I can’t recommend Dekalb Dental enough! They are amazing, complete professionals. Dr Nguyen replaced several of my fillings and they feel better now than when they were done originally. The nurses and admin were so kind and kept me apprised of all expected costs at each point in the services. Thank you!!"
"The best dental experience I’ve had. I needed two fillings and was ready for a long and difficult visit. It was over in 15 minutes, and my teeth feel great. The dentist was very gentle and kind, everyone at the office was friendly and nice."
"Jackie was my dental hygienist and she was amazing! Not only was she patient and sympathetic during the rougher parts of my cleaning (like the X-rays), she was also incredible with the instruments. I've been poked and scratched in previous cleanings when it came to the scraping part, but she did a great job; I wasn't hurt once. The front desk team was also very personable. This was my first time visit, but they made me feel like I've been seeing them for years."
"The dental hygienist was great and extremely informative during the exam and recommended a deep cleaning for a later date. I found out about this practice through my insurance, as they are the only local practice that is in-network. The practice corroborated this, and ensured they would be able to bill my insurance, but mentioned it was not set up in their system at that time. They told me to ignore my bill until they get my insurance set up in their system and bill my insurance. I called a couple weeks before my actual cleaning appointment to see if everything was sorted on their end; I thought I was being courteous as I didn’t want to waste the appointment slot if they were not able to utilize my insurance and in case out-of-pocket costs weren’t feasible for me at that time. I am told that I am putting them through a wild goose chase and that I have no insurance in the system, and that my story makes no sense. They cancelled my appointment and got quite rude when I accidentally mixed up the terms PPO and HMO. Since I have an HMO and it requires me to designate a facility; I made sure they would be able to bill my insurance before, during, and after my exam with both the hygienist and front desk staff. I had a rep from my insurance join a call with the practice after the first “past due” notice and the woman kept saying her hands are tied as it is a “corporate issue” with my insurance not being listed in the system. I continue to receive past-due alerts for this appointment and I anticipate I will end up paying out of pocket to avoid being sent to collections. It’s a shame; the providers seemed caring and attentive but I am the one being sent on this wild goose chase in terms of billing. Ideally, I would submit the bill to my insurance on my end for reimbursement, but this only works if the practice follows the fee schedule in the contract between my insurance and the practice. It’s as if the practice contracts with my insurance as an in-network provider, but doesn’t want to recognize it when it comes time to billing the patient."
