"I spoke with an agent on December 28, 2023 to start my Auto and Renter’s Insurance Policy; effective 1/5/2024.I had to pay the 1st month up front…The renter’s portion of my policy was $13.09 and was supposed to be drafted MONTHLY…The agent INCORRECTLY had the YEARLY premium drafted. Jose submitted paperwork to have premium refunded(3-5 days) December 29, 2023 Called to make sure information for refund($157.00-$13.09) for Renter’s Insurance was submitted. Per Ashley; it will be on hold until January 11th to make sure payment goes through… January 4, 2024 Received a VM and email stating my bank statement is needed to process refund… Called and spoke with Dustin to cancel policy. Per Dustin; previous advocates assumed payment came from my checking account instead of checking to see that it came from my CC. Dustin submitted policy cancellation…Should receive refund for Auto($156.25) AND Renter’s Policy($157.00) within 1-2 business days. January 9, 2024 My CC was refunded the FULL $156.25 for the AUTO policy but ONLY refunded $13.09 for the RENTERS policy so I had to call AGAIN and NOW I’ll be waiting ANOTHER 1-2 business days the remaining refund of $143.91 This has got to be the MOST INCOMPETENT company I’ve ever dealt with…"
"The worst insurance company I've ever dealt with. I cancelled my policy and also cancelled auto pay on the app. I then called to make sure issue was taking care of. That didnt stop them from taking the money. The money was taken out my account the next day. It took hours to take my money from my account so now I have to wait 14 days for refund.SMDH"
"Safeco insurance uses my debit card to pay my bill. Back in July they never took payment out of my account. Then cancelled our policy stating (non payment) which they are responsible for. Then started charging a gap charge for "not having insurance for a month" then raised our monthly bill 50.00 before that we had a big rock come across the highway and smash into our windshield which is (comprehensive damage) they replaced the windshield. A month later they cancelled the policy for "non payment" then charged us two months payment to reinstate our policy. Since then my son has gotten his license and we passed the car down to him. Safeco put the windshield claim on his name and wanted 500.00 monthly to insure him. He had nothing to do with the claim. They have umbrella'd the policy and raised all three vehicles premiums. Safeco insurance is not an insurance company I would ever do business with! Ever! We have gotten a new policy thru another company and then cancelled our policy with Safeco. Good luck to you if you use this insurance company. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!!!! Scott Sturgeon!"
"I wish I read those comments before I purchase auto insurance from Safeco. I purchased one year auto insurance from Safeco for myself, my wife and two kids, paid in full, very expensive. My son got a job and moved away to live on his own, he also went ahead purchased his own auto insurance. His new insurance started 2 months before my current one expires. So I called Safeco to ask for a refund, bill person on the phone told me I will not get refund, because the refund goes to my next year's policy. ?%$# I have never heard about this in my whole life. When I questioned this, she told me it's company policy and refused to listen to my reason. I cancelled Safeco next day."
"Dirty company to do business with. Purchase a policy for our new boat, we decided not to keep the boat ans sold it. Called Safeco to cancel a 3 week policy, they decided to charge me a 70 cancelation fee without telling me. They also held my refund that I was told I would have in 7-14 day. Very sneaky and shady behavior. I would definitely call around before using this company. By the way I still don't have my refund. I will be posting on Yelp as well."
