"Mom has memory issues. Went to ER and was given 2 prescriptions. Followed up with her PCP who said to fill one but not the other. I told the tech at the pharmacy this, who wrote on the RX “hold” just in case she needed in the future. Fine-makes sense. Pharmacist, however, took it upon himself to go ahead and fill it because “maybe the doctor wanted her to take both”. The reason she wasn’t to fill it was because she was already on another version of the medication but hadn’t been consistent taking it. Thank God I was with her when she picked up or else she would have been unknowingly taking medication her doctor didn’t want her to take-2 of the same kind of medication. Pharmacist needs to stay in his lane."
