"I'm not from St. Louis but I will always recommend Wicke Auto to anyone local or passing through. (If you don't want to read the story just skip to the bottom couple paragraphs) Here's why: I was traveling across Missouri on I-44 during Christmas weekend and the plan was to stay overnight in St. Louis. I had my wife, dog, and 3 month old baby with me. During the trip it was really dark and raining and due to these conditions I hit a shredded semi tire on the road. Within 5 minutes my van was overheating. The radiator was beyond fixing. We limped our way to Joplin and made it to our Air Bnb at midnight. I knew there were several things that could be seriously wrong with the van so I was trying to figure out where to go. I got up at 6 the next morning to start calling around and looking for a shop. After looking at my options and calling about 10 different shops I did not feel confident that any of them would be able to get me back on the road in a timely manner. That was until I called Wicke Auto. After speaking to Jeff at Wicke I knew that these guys would be capable and do everything in their power to get me back on the road. Not only did these guys rush to get my van fixed that morning, they actually went out to get the parts themselves since the shop was closing early due to it being Christmas weekend. They did quality work fast. I'm really thankful I talked to Jeff. He made sure I was taken care of and even gave me a bit of a Christmas gift of a cheaper bill on the repairs. I was able to make it home to my family in Indiana that day. Thank you Wicke Auto crew!"
"Our daughter goes to school at WashU, and when we dropped her and her car off we took it to Wicke to get an emissions test so we could opt out in our home state. They were very knowledgable about the process and walked us through what we needed to do to avoid having her drive it all the way home every year for an emissions test. Not one other auto shop in St. Louis had any idea of what we needed or how to help us. Today, our daughter dropped by Wicke for a minor repair issue and they took care of her right away. They are professional, knowledgable and most importantly honest, and exactly the kind of shop you want your child to have access to! (We wish we lived closer so we could use them) Cannot recommend them enough, and our daughter has taken to recommending them to all her friends."
"I dropped my car off to get my check emissions light checked right as they opened at 7:30am. They called me at 8:45am, explained the problem, and said that they had the part in stock and would start on the car "as soon as they got my blessing." I adjust my plans and stay in the area instead of walking home because it should be ready soon if the started after getting confirmation. Come 1pm I go in, they guy calls the place to see if the part is on its way, and apparently, the place where they're getting the part delivered from doesn't have a delivery driver today, and they might not be able to get the part until tomorrow. At this point, it is 3pm. They did manage to get the part in same day, fix my car, and also lent me a charger so I could charge my phone which had died while I was waiting, but it was not a good experience."
"I have taken my car here 2 times. The first was an air leak that they had resolved in two days back in september of 2022. I have a 2012 chevy sonic LTZ so it breaks down A LOT. It broke down in May of 2022, and normally does so about every 4 months (yes, I should get another car). However, Wicke helped my car run for over a year without any issues which surprised me. I recently took my car back to have it looked at after my check engine light came on. They ran many tests on it over a few days and they could not find the issue (common for small dealerships because they do not have the trademarked tech to be able to run more in depth diagnostics). So, they recommended I take it to the car dealership (Don Brown). My experience with Don Brown has been AWFUL (they have had my car for two weeks with no offer for a rental, discount, etc.). It is not Wicke's fault by any means, but definitely a side note to avoid Don Brown or any dealership because they are charging me over $800 in labor alone to replace a fuel pump (about a 2 hour job), told me they could "remove the corrosion on my battery" for 40, and "repair" my struts for 300. Needless to say, if I have say, I will only ever bring my car to Wicke. They never charged me for all the diagnostics, so I had them replace my windshield wipers just to try and compensate them a tiny bit. I have had my friend go to Wicke now, and she refuses to go anywhere else. Cannot recommend enough."
