Vickers Geodes

"Visited on a hot day so we stuck to the creek mostly. Easy to get to. Friendly people all around giving us pointers on where to look but we weren't having an issue simply picking up golfball size and larger geodes just walking the creek. Take some time to look for fossils too! Bring your own tools and buckets. There's lovely flat rocks that make it easy to sit and rest if you need to. We were able to sit and enjoy a sandwich with the water flowing by us. Overall a great experience and we'll definitely be back."

"I had a really great time here and highly recommend it. The geodes that I got on the day I came were incredibly large. The owner was also there, digging them up with a tractor and helping us find them. He was a really nice guy and would dig up the new areas and make sure that everyone around got a chance to get a nice piece. He was so kind he even would call us over to tell us there was a geode. There is no way we would have found these on our own. 10 out of 10!!!"

"Bring your own tools and make sure to bring water. There were 5 cars in the lot and we had plenty of room to ourselves. We found lots of geodes, some 6 inches in diameter. The creek was fun to walk through, there were a few snakes too."

"Tony was a pleasure to speak with over the phone! He gave me all the details of what I needed to know about geode hunting at his location. I thought we'd find a handful of cool geodes, but three 5-gallon buckets later, we found way more than we bargained for!! The mining area is easy to get to and dig. This location also has a public restroom, which is nice with kids. We had a lot of fun and would definitely come back for another day of digging fun!"

"Hands down the best experience. This was our first experience and it was awesome. The owner showed up and offered to take us all to his company a couple miles away where we wouldn't need to dig as much. We all gladly followed. This man went above and beyond to ensure that everyone had tons of geodes. We found many different sizes. It was so fun. It was my husband and I. There were families with children there as well. We all talked and shared excitement about what we found. I couldn't wait to go home and show my children. I will be back! There was a small lockbox on a picnic table to put your $25 dollars into. It was on the honor system. I personally walked about to the owner as we left his business site and handed him another $50. Worth every cent. He was so kind. His dog was sweet and he was so helpful. Family friendly and you will find so many geodes!!!! Thank you for a great 1st experience in digging for geodes. I brought back small ones for every child in my school and they have now spent the last 3 weeks "digging for geodes" on our playground. I made sure to let all the families know that if they ever travel that this needs to be a planned stop. We got dirty, but it was a blast."
