Reviews of Red's Auto and Truck Repair
"Joe (the owner) is great at what he does. After learning the hard way by going to other cheaper mechanics, Joe has become the only person I trust with my car. Thank you for your hard work."
"Great old school repair shop with a straight talking owner and very good group of techs. Took my 2015 GMC Sierra for complete drive line fluids change and inspection at 75k. Did the old fashioned trans filter change with fluid drain and fill. Brand Dealers want to sell their power flush service and overrated additives which doesn't change the filter or the gasket, nor provide a visual inspection and cleaning of magnets. Also, did the front and rear differentials along with transfer case. Drive line is smoother and quieter now. If you want great results without a bunch of slick fast talking BS, then call Joe at Reds."
"I’ve been going to Reds Auto for years. Always knowledgeable and fairly priced. I’ve gotten quotes from other places and they are always higher. He has fixed numerous things on my cars with great results. Definitely a great local car repair. Great place for a quick oil change."
"Unscrupulous, condescending business owner. This review isn't about their services, or how they perform them. It's about how they operate as a business and how they treat other people. Several months back, I proposed to Joe that I redesign his direct mail piece, to which he agreed he needed re-done. See attached Before pics. He expressed dissatisfaction with the last print job, which cost him roughly $800. I offered to redesign them for the same price, promising an elevated design. He agreed, and I went ahead and designed them. Joe insisted that I complete the design with a quick turn-around, asking for a rush so that he could have the cards sent out in time for the winter season. Lo and behold, I completed the design for him within a few days, emailed proofs per usual design process, but received no response. I even showed up at his shop, which I pass by daily, paid for an oil change - which I badly needed (and was the inspiration for the design, actually) - and confirmed on the spot, with my two children in tow, that I would be printing the cards for him. He agreed. The whole reason I even proposed the work was so that I could turn around and pay him to install new brake pads on my Subaru - thought it would be an easy, symbiotic exchange. Well, once I finalized the designs, I and sent them over for final approval. No response. This afternoon, I stopped into the shop to ask what was up, as I've been sitting on these finished designs, waiting to send them off to print. In that moment, with a friend or customer in his shop (I think I interrupted a conversation they were having about "damn liberals"), he replied that he decided he wasn't going to move forward after all. Shocked, I asked why. No response. Just a smug, "eh, I'll probably do it next year." He then added, "what it take you, 20 minutes to design that?" Unreal. Let this be a lesson to anyone hustling to put food on the table. Don't do any work for anyone without some sort of upfront payment. Never assume that someone who claims to be professional and above the rest is actually that until they sign on the dotted line. And especially don't do business with local car shop owners whose dodgy behavior give your gut a twist the first time you ask them a direct question. I should have seen the signs, that's my fault. I eat the cost of my time and creativity now, but hopefully this lesson resonates with someone else who may read this review. Again - this review isn't about their service. The two oil changes I've had with them were uneventful. It seems like they primarily work on ambulances and fleet trucks, so customer service is non-existent, but that's probably to be expected. That's fine for them. But, if you're a local customer looking to support a local business, don't do it here. It's gross, reeks of smoke, and the owner is a total downer."
"My family and I have been going to see Joe at Red's Auto for over 10 years now, and have always been very pleased! Joe and his guys are friendly, honest, and fair. I definitely recommend going to Red's Auto for all your car needs! The pricing is the best around."
