"It was September 9th. The day is already a horrible day to remember for me, due to the fact that 90% of my family was lost In a home flood. But then it all got worse. It was a hot day filled with the noise of the bustling city and I decided that I wanted to go to the nearest family branded restaurant. The first one that I saw was a place called Mama's cooking. I found it on Yelp and it was only a few miles away. I decided to go and try it. I Brought my only surviving relative with me Johnny my brother. We sat down and already had to wait 20 minutes just to be served. A bad start. Then I decided to order the clam chowder for lunch. You can't go wrong with a hard boiled seashell after all. But then it did. My brother fell and hit the ground and started bleeding out due to poison in his chicken. I tried to help but I couldn't due to the fainting feeling I felt in my head because of the clam chowder. That day I lost a brother. And my own sanity thank you mama"
"Ordered Italian this past Sat for six. Food was good and packaged nicely. Now the improvements. When picking up from the newer restaurant was told that Italian food is picked up at the slice factory. SMH. You need to do a better job conveying that to your customers. I hear that the buffet is not your tradiontal buffet? I've not tried it but if that is the case, customers are being misled.I would suggest calling it something else to avoid the confusion. I will be back and hope the Mexican food is worth my wild."
"1.) Misleading Advertisement -The restaurant is called Big Mama’s Kitchen. Idk about you, but with that name I’m thinking Southern Food. So you can imagine how confused I was when I waked in and realized it’s Mexican Food. -The Decor on the outside of the restaurant is very nice. Super clean. I am of course expecting the inside to be the same. Wrong. Floor is peeling, old furniture. 2.) Not Child Friendly -My daughter needed a baby chair which did not even have a working seatbelt... it was broken! For people with young children like mine who is 10months learning to walk and becoming more curious WE NEED A SEAT BELT. -No changing table. This place is called Big Mama’s Kitchen and is not even suitable for Mamas! I had to go outside to my car and change my daughter in the trunk exposing her to the world and the cold morning breeze. 3.) Long Wait -We got to the restaurant and ordered our food by 11:30-11:35. It’s not to far from my job only like 5-7 minutes away. I had a shift at 12:30. Well we waited 30 minutes (in that time I went outside changed my daughter and everything) and after those 30 minutes they only brought out my order and we still had to wait for my Husband’s order. We both ordered 1 Gordita just different meats. Both with cilantro and onions. We ended up having to get it to go. 4.) Mistakes on Orders -After we packed my order to go and finally got my husbands order in a to go container, we drove to my job and I had 15 minutes to eat in the car before going in. My husband was eating with me as well and he didn’t even take one bite. He ordered a Gordita of Chorizo with only cilantro and onions. It had beans and cheese which he didn’t mind the beans but he hates cheese so he didn’t even eat it. My order was Gordita of chicken with cilantro and onions. It also had beans (maybe they just all come with beans) which again I didn’t mind either but it also had cheese and sour cream and I hate sour cream. Ask there were a few small pieces of carne asada. They were very tiny so that’s clear to me that the grill was just not cleaned properly before putting the chicken to cook. Overall: Not a good experience by any means and in the end I half ate a cold Gordita which wasn’t prepared how I had asked. I can get better quality at my mother’s house at no charge. Never coming back here!"
"We've walked past this place many times since Slice Factory moved next door but never went in there until today. The restaurant is usually empty in the evenings and there is minimal decor. Needless to say we were skeptical when we finally decided to try it out. Let me just say the food shattered my expectations and served as a great reminder that you can't judge a book by it's cover. I got the pork rib entree. For $14 I got five nicely roasted pork ribs, potato wedges and a huge plate of broccoli rabe on top of toasted bread. The flavor was great, the presentation was nice and I would happily eat here again. For those of you wanting fast food this is not the place. The food is made to order and it is well worth the 15-20 minute wait. I can't speak for the morning crew, but the young guy behind the grill in the evening is dying to cook good food for the customers. Give the guy a chance to show off his chops behind the stove and I'm sure you will not be disappointed. I know I wasn't."
