Saranello's 601 North Milwaukee Avenue, Wheeling, IL 60090

"Visited for a weekday late lunch early dinner. Very few other patrons were in the restaurant at that time. We started with the meatballs as an appetizer 3 meatballs (slightly larger than a golf ball) for $13. The portion seemed more like a tapas plate than an appetizer. They were okay. We ordered the chicken limone and short rib ravioli. The chicken limone was good and a nice portion. I was surprised it wasn't served with a small side pasta e.g angel hair. That's fine though. The short rib ravioli had a lot of filling, the flavors were muted and one note. The presentation and portion were nothing special. (see pic) Service: While initially attentive, our server got pulled away by the chatty and distracting hostess to do prep for the dinner service. We waited ten minutes for our check after finishing our meal. The server also had an AirPod in while serving us for the entire meal. While becoming more acceptable, this is unprofessional in a service environment. Atmosphere: While the restaurant has a nice ambiance and décor it was difficult to enjoy. The hostess was having loud unprofessional conversations with her peers and delivery drivers that carried throughout the restaurant. We were 20' away and could hear every word as if we were a part of the conversation."

"We decided to stop in for a quick Valentines Lunch. The speed lunches are such a good deal! Our server was timely and great. She was attentive but gave us time. The Alfredo was very rich. I’m sure it’s supposed to be that way, but I couldn’t finish it. The pasta was so good though. Chewy and wonderful bite. My husbands giardiniera chicken sandwich was missing the giardiniera but fresh and good. The French fries were delicious! So hot and crispy. My favorite kind of French fry. Our server was nice enough to oblige my request for the crème brûlée. That disappeared in 2 seconds. YUM! Overall, I’d be back for the lunch. The salad was also fresh and good. I’d ask for the vinaigrette on the side next time, but otherwise good salad!"

"We had our intimate Wedding in the beautiful spacious Grand Salon at Saranello's, and it was truly Marvelous. From the top notch service to the phenomenal food. Saranello's is in a great location, connected to the Westin Hotel, which was great for our guests and the whole wedding party. There are also tons of picturesque places throughout the whole building to take photos. Laura, the Event Coordinator truly listened and helped us every step of the way in planning a seamless event our guests and us would never forget. Not to mention the charismatic Bartender who made our "Couple's Cocktails" so delicious. As well as the Lead Server, Raffa whose bright personality and attentive service left quite the impression on everyone he met."

"Great place that you might not consider. Kinda hidden away at the front end of Westin hotel right in wheeling on milwaukee Rd. They have several private dining area for small to medium parties and gathering. I would fully recommend it."
