Reviews of Positano Ristorante
"We came here for our 18th anniversary 2/25. The food was delicious, and the service was excellent from the front desk to the servers. A huge thanks to Brian, our server, who was wonderful, outgoing and made the night that much more enjoyable . This was a place recommended by a friend, and we will definitely be back to try more of their food as it all sounded amazing ."
"My first time here. I sat at the Bar as I was alone tonight. Started with a cup of the Lobster Bisque. It was hot, creamy and had bits of lobster. With the fresh Italian bread, it was a great start. I ordered the pork chop Valdostana, which took quite a while to come out (was hopping it was being made to order). When the dish arrived, I was impressed by the visual presentation. My first bite confirmed my suspicion. Everything was perfect. The pork was tender, the mushrooms were full of flavor and the sauce pulled the whole dish together. Needless to say to say, there was no to-go-box needed. I nibbled the last of the tender pork off the bones, then used the fresh Italian bread to soak up the remaining sauce. Delizioso!!! The bar tender had recommended either of two white wines and provided samples of each. The Sauvignon Blanc went perfectly with the Pork. Overall, this was the best meal out I have enjoyed in quite sometime."
"I regret visiting this restaurant. I was on a staycation, and I regret choosing this location over others. I would’ve preferred to wait a bit more at another restaurant than experience this place again. I had a reservation and the front reception was amazing. After that, the downfall began. I should said no when they asked if seating outdoors was okay. Seats were hard and for some odd reason, midway thru dinner the busboy turned off one of the only outdoor heaters - mind you it was about 50 degrees outside and plenty others seated. My waitress who served me on 10/7th was a disappointment, one glass of water for my two hour dinner. And made me wait about 30 minutes more than I would’ve preferred . The Rissotto Al Porcini is a dish i would skip. Not with it. Very bland in flavor, but not as bad as my pasta. I wanted gnocchi but saw it came in tomato sause - not my favorite , I ordered the Cavatelli Nonna and was met again with a bland flavor. Maybe the sause killed it. As I usually prefer creamy versus sause. The honestly only good food here was the bread. And that’s after asking for butter on the side. The Cannoli tasted as if it arrived frozen versus handmade. I would NOT visit again."
"Italian restaurant down the street from oakbrook mall, plenty of parking, and nice ambiance. The food was hearty and felt fresh especially the pastas, cocktails were decent and the service was great. All in all a great spot for the family or an initial date night"
"I was really looking forward to this place. I wanted to try something different. Unfortunately, service by Kaylynn was not so great. I am not the kind of person that likes to make a complaint, but I mentioned to her that the chicken looked under cooked and she offer me to take my plate so they can cook it/warm it up. She didn't gave me much options on changing my meal, or make it work for me. Food is ok, atmosphere is chill. Owner was very attentive with all the customers which is great, but his team needs some work. Overall, I give it a 3/10."
