Shahi Nihari and Chopsticks

"Their nihari is one of the best in Chicagoland area. Bbq is also pretty good. Chinese menu items are ok. Took away one star due to sluggish service. Waiter didn’t come to check in with us after serving food and it took forever to get the check. Overall, Shahi is a great option for Pakistani food in the area with room for improvement in their service."

"This is the second time I visited the restaurant and I must say the food is not consistent with the quality we experienced early this year in Jan 2023. It’s sad because we were really looking forward to enjoying the Desi flavors in U.S. The Bihari kebabs were reminiscent of beef gyros(not my cup of tea) and the Nihari wasn’t as well seasoned as before. The tikka boti and reshmi kebabs were great. The naans were doughy and the falooda wasn’t as robust with all its trimming as before. In short I would love to be proved wrong on my next visit because it is difficult to find a good desi restaurant."

"Looking for #halal #desi restaurants, I saw #Shahi close to my hotel. It has been nearly a decade that I visited them. It has good decor and ambiance with very friendly staff. I wanted to dine but got too late for it. Had to go for takeout. The meat quality was great. The only thing I had to drain a bit was oil/ghee/roghan. I like “roghan” but it was a bit too much for what works for me. #BihariKabab can be a bit more moist and soft. It is a nice place to dine. #travel #Chicago #food #desifood #Nihari"
