"First impressions walking in it’s old, they need to update a lot of stuff. Don’t let that scare you off because I smell nothing but cleanliness in the restaurant so I definitely wasn’t scared to eat there. The service quick and easy. I had the jumbo shrimp fried rice which was delicious, no excessive oils, no weird taste. I also tried the pot stickers and those in themselves were all worth it. The biggest pot stickers I’ve have and the sauce was so good. I don’t know if it’s made in house but some of the best sour sauce I’ve had."
"My boyfriend and I both grew up in The Downers Grove area and have tried every Chinese place around in westmont, hinsdale, lisle, You name it we’ve tried it! We recently stumbled upon ZJ at the end of a strip mall and we have finally found the BEST Chinese food in the western suburbs. Everytime has been perfect. Highly recommend the Mongolian beef and lunch specials. Super flavorful and authentic!"
"Remember the "No Soup For You" guy from Seinfeld? This is the Asian restaurant version of that. Decent food...but expect ZERO concessions, or exceptions, from the owner. If this is your first time, be prepared to order exactly what you think you will enjoy, or you may never come back. Walking into the establishment you will be greeted by an employee guarded by a saran-wrap forcefield covering the register counter. I'm all for PPE, but my goodness. I was thinking, "Am I ordering take-out, or walking into a seedy medical establishment?" Fortunately the food was good. I had the General's Tofu & Pineapple fried rice. The food seemed fresh, & the portion sizes were good. But it's a little pricey for take-out, at nearly $15 a dish. (And pass on the pan-fried noodles). When I had asked to substitute the meat egg rolls for veg egg rolls, I was denied & told it was late in the night (It was over an hour before the posted closing time). To my surprise, even the provided fortune cookie read , "No Egg-Rolls For You". Despite my belly being full, I cried myself to sleep."
"I can’t really leave much of a review except for these photos of the menu because unfortunately I walked in, took these menu photos walked out due to an incredibly unappetizing smell. There are plenty of dish options including both Chinese and Thai cuisine. disclaimer: not sure if the bad smell was the restaurant itself or just someone standing nearby :( The cashier seemed friendly enough and I’m pretty certain there was only one cook in the back."
