Sammy's Mexican Grill and Bar

"After being referred by a friend we were looking forward to our 1st experience here but experienced the worst dining experience in 30+ years. Room Ambience/Temperature = Double Negative Zero If you like to wear your coat while dining then this is the place for you as there's a constant cold draft blowing through whole restaurant from the outdoor seating area door being constantly open. Cleanliness = Triple Negative Zero Floors were disgusting W/leftover food, napkins & whatever else shuffling under our feet & under other tables. We can't speak for the bathrooms but can't imagine they are well tended to if the dining room was in the condition it was. Service = Quadruple Negative Zero Hands down the worst service ever of dining out in 4 decades. Seat yourself then hope somebody sees you sat down only to be told we'll be with you in a few minutes (more like 10 minutes) & then gave us a menu! *Note: the place was maybe at 25% capacity. Then a different server returns & she takes our drink/dinner order. Drinks were 5-10 minutes then server did not return once to ask if we wanted a another drink or more chips & salsa even after placing the empty glass at the edge of the table. She only returned with our dinners 30+ minutes later! The wife's dinner arrived 1st ice cold & even at that point the server looked at the empty glass on the table & didn't ask if we wanted another drink, 5 minutes later my dinner arrived. We were literally seconds away from paying for our drinks & leaving. Atmosphere - Been to dozens of real authentic Hispanic restaurants but nothing special here, "A" typical Mexican Restaurant done very poorly. Food = 2 At best, but probably would have rated better had all of the above not been so awful. Drinks = 4 The only good thing worth rating. Overall save your $$$ there's many other much better Mexican restaurant establishments to support in the area. *As a side note we never rate dining or other experiences online but felt this was that bad we had to voice our displeasure. Definitely a one & done experience & we are praying we don't get food poisoning..."

"This is our little gem in Roselle. The food is amazing and the service is great. The bartender Angel makes awesome drinks and is very quick and efficient. The waiters are very friendly and treat the guests like royalty. Erick is also fantastic. I highly recommend the fajitas."

"I meant to write this a couple weeks ago. We came on a Wed and they were slammed so instead of waiting the host (I wish I knew his name) came to help us and took our order via memory. I figured something would be screwed up and everything was perfect. The host was probably the best waitor I've ever had with such a crazy good memory and attentiveness all while hosting. What could have been easily been a bad experience was amazing. I hope he gets credit for the teamwork and his additional skillset. The only downside there is it gets so loud it's hard to talk but the food is great so worth it. Thank You again to the host!"

"Tried this location for the first time . I definitely enjoyed the sammies taco meal it has steak and chorizo added the green sauce Definitely be back for those again"

"The drinks here are just amazing. Nat the bartender/server made the best Margaritas & Caipirinhas I have ever tasted. First time I came to sit at the bar to drink. Then I came back another time to try the food & it did not disappoint. Our table of 4 ordered the Sammy’s parrillada it was perfect!! And Nat was around to make us some more delicious drinks! Thank you Sammy’s I wish you continued success!"
