"Shakou Restaurants what a huge disappointment and horrible management! Visiting today was by far the worst experience of my life at a restaurant, and I used to work in the service industry as a server and manager. I’ve dined here before and the food was great. However, this time I ordered through grub hub to pick up an order. Somehow, a grub hub driver showed up and took my order. Instead of making my order again when I could show I had paid for it and that it was a pick-up order they said they couldn’t do anything about it except cancel the order and I pay for the order again. I never received a cancelation of my order, and the manager wouldn’t do anything about it. I’ve been in this situation before and this is when the house is flexible to meet what the customer asked and paid for verses saying their hands are tied. Not one employee apologized for the inconvenience. Hopefully they figure it out! If the manager replies to this review at all I will find it odd seeing they couldn’t find the time when I was there."

"Celebrated a birthday dinner early on a Saturday night here. The food is pretty good, our server was really amazing, but I’m not sure what this place thinks it is or what they are trying to do. It’s Park Ridge. The place was jam-packed with families on a Saturday night and the music was louder and more bass-driven than some bars. Why? It doesn’t fit the customer base at all. Club music is fine, but why set it at a level that’s not conducive to the group-appropriate setting of the restaurant? Also, it was like 30 degrees outside and the valet kid didn’t have any heating at all. There were at least 3 heating apparatus within 20 feet of the valet stand. Why not move one over for the poor valet kid and also the customers waiting for the cars? Maybe they can trade in one of the speakers in the restaurant to be able to afford keeping a staff member warm outside? Props to our server, she was a delight. Props to the food prep team and cooks, the food was tasty. Boo to ownership."

"Excellent food and service and atmosphere. This is our go to for a great night out with either the family, friends, or an amazing date night. Drinks are top notch and staff is wonderful and welcoming. Britni was our waitress and she was fantastic with our picky kids and so much fun. Can’t wait to go back!"

"Shakou is a solid sushi restaurant with plenty of seating. Perfect for large parties. The service is a bit slow, but not unbearably long. I love the Dragon Fire and Black Widow sushi rolls. The bottom side of the rice of the Dragon Fire is pan fried to crunchy crisp. The Black Widow has a large piece of scallop on top. Both rolls were very unique and tasty! I would definitely order this roll again."

"This is a nicely decorated restaurant with great atmosphere. The food was only better than average. Service was a little slow. But generally speaking, customers can definitely have good time here."
