Taco Madre

"After years of living in Aurora with hundreds of authentic Mexican restaurants, we finally tried Taco Madre. The staff was great, but if you are looking for well-seasoned, authentic Mexican, this is not the spot. We had carnitas nachos, chicken tamale, steak quesadilla and steak burrito. Everything was incredibly bland. The carnitas meat was gamey (or farmy, since it’s a pig?) and not as tender or flavorful as carnitas should be. The cheese on the nachos tasted like nothing, zero flavor. The tortilla chips were decent, but the jarred jalapeños on top were the best part. The quesadilla didn’t have much steak in it, and it was soggy and flavorless. The pico helped a bit on that. The tamale was SO dry. The burrito was decent, but again, totally bland. Maybe the specialty Mexican-fusion tacos are the way to go, similar to Velvet Taco (which is delicious), so if we try this place again, perhaps the tacos will be less disappointing than the rest of the menu."

"so tonight, for the first time, we tried out this place. i ordered the madre tacos and my boyfriend ordered the steak tacos. i got guacamole with chips on the side. the chips were the highlight. the meat was awful. i didn’t eat more than one taco and i had to spit out the meat. it was full of gristle and fat. the ‘guacamole’ was puréed avocado in big globs on my taco, and the side of guacamole was a huge glob of this that they threw a little onion, tomato and cilantro on top. i scraped it off my taco and we didn’t enjoy the side of it once we got through the top layer. i’ll never order from this place again."

"Wonderful authentic Mexican food flavor! Prices are inexpensive. In the night while raining, service was quick and friendly. I’m still amazed by how good the food was, my first visit and definitely I will be back and recommend. (Atmosphere I couldnt rate since I was via 'drive-through.')"

"This place is pretty good,don't come here looking for a typical Mexican restaurant, this is what I call an Instagram/foodie restaurant. To the neon sign and the different takes on taco flavors and the little trays the food is served on all screams Instagram. Definitely recommend the taquitos and the Mayan taco (although it has a lot going on and the bacon can kind of overpower some of the other flavors) I would go back to try some more Madre style tacos."

"Food was great and the atmosphere is nice. Friendly people and food comes out fast. The salsa is a warm salsa and is amazing. Chips are made there. Horchata is great as well. They also deliver too. We just found out when we went in. You can order online. Highly recommend this place for people who really like tacos and trying a variety of them from different places. They are great and slightly different than some of the other places nearby. Totally worth a visit to check them out."
