"Beware!!!!! Specially if you’re female. I was having problems with having no heat while idle. The car was not over heating just no heat when idle. I was quoted for a new radiator and a thermostat costing 1800. I denied the service and took it to another shop for a second opinion and they said it was the water pump that the radiator looked brand new. I called and complained to corporate that the manager Paul tried to scam me for work I didn’t need done. Corporate had the owner call me about the service and tried to tell me that the year and make and model of my car did have known issues with the radiator and thermostats . So that’s how they diagnose problems by previous known problems with cars. I purchased the car in July so I do not know if the radiator had been replaced previously. But from what the shop that’s replacing the water pump says it looked brand new. So if I was dumb like this Midas thought I was I would have spent 3000 total for a radiator and thermostat that I did not need and for the actual replacement of the water pump that’s was the real problem. I’m tired of these automotive places trying to take advantage of women thinking we don’t kno anything about cars. I’m so glad I denied the service and got a second opinion. Saved me $1800."

"I went in for the promotional brake inspection due to my spongy brake. I believe it was the pad cause the brake oil level was low at the same time but I used the promotional check anyway. The quote was astronomical! I was asked to change pads, rotor, brake fluid flush and rear caliper service for $912.17. I fixed my brake at the dealership for $216.32 with rotor inspection and I didn’t need to replace my rotor. Brake fluid went back to normal as described in the manual too. Then other nice to do: total $679.64, I got them done for $119.93. coolant top up $139.89 (got it done with $14.99 50/50 GM approved premix) Engine air filer $95.80 (done for $19.99) cabin air filter $99.99 (done for $23.99) spark plugs $343.96 (done for $47.96 + $13 magnetic plug spanner, the only one that required extra tool.). Note: a regular engine oil service is harder than all the jobs listed above. Auto transmission fluid change; I didn’t have to do this cause I just did it two servicing ago so I didn’t add it to the $679.64 above. Car manual is not asking for another one until like 5 servicing away. But they also quote me for a gear oil change right under an auto transmission fluid quote like how!!! Just basically asking me to service a manual and auto gear under the same breath."
