"I was standing in line waiting to order. I saw a woman come up to get her food. She asked the cashier for a fork. The cashier explained to her that she didn’t have any forks. The woman shared that she saw a box of forks in the back. The cashier added that only certain orders come with a fork. But spoons and knives were available. This was a black woman that had an entree that was covered in meat and cheese sauce. As a black woman myself, I had to ask why she refused to give the woman a fork and if I ordered something covered in meat and cheese, would I get a fork. The cashier explained to me that she was told the same day that they were not allowed to serve forks unless a customer ordered a certain dish. The cashiers nails were dirty. I decided not to eat there although I traveled over 20 minutes."

"Shrimp and grits were very good. However it was quite expensive and took a long time to get my food. Probably wouldn’t have bothered me except my friends had finished theirs from other places at the Foundry when I got mine. Food was very fresh which I appreciated. Just expect a little wait."

"This place is awesome... was there with my work team for a work retreat and outing - we set up right outside of 4 Hens - the smells - if only they were visual....Nathan and his nephew Leaf (SP) exudes great customer service...this was the 2nd time I visited City Foundry - don't know how I missed this food gem the first time...definitely will be back with my crew!"

"My family and I stopped by the Foundry on a whim and I was immediately drawn to Four Hens by the amazing smells coming from the kitchen. As soon as I stepped up to the counter I was greeted by Candace and Nate who took care of me with friendly smiles and warm personalities. Nate made me shrimp and grits, just how he eats it, and it was by far the best grits I’ve ever had…and I’ve had a lot of grits in my life. They were creamy, flavorful and melted perfectly in my mouth. The shrimp were big, full of flavor without overpowering anything else, were perfectly (and I do mean perfectly) cooked and was the best accompaniment to the gravy. If you’re looking for real creole flavors, this is the place for you. RUSH down here before they sell out!!"

"This was the first time that I actually liked grits! So creamy and flavorful. The shrimp was good, the drinks were nice. I have no cons about this restaurant. The prices were reasonable and service was good. I would go back again to this female owned restaurant if I end up in St. Louis. Try it out!"
