"If your Grandfather was going to pick you up to get breakfast or lunch. You would end up here. Absolute class old school. The ladies running the place are what you would expect. Classy, good manners and prompt. I'm not a guy that often gives 5 stars... Here it is. Oh ya, the prices are old school as well. Fill up folks when you have a minute."
"Really enjoyed our visit to Chili Mac’s Diner in downtown St. Louis, the original home of the Slinger, a locally famous food legend. Great food, great service and a touch of nostalgia are the reasons this diner has been serving happy customers since 1904. The teamwork (and fun “attitude”) between the three sisters is the icing on the cake."
"This place is a hidden gem. Fantastic little diner and the breakfast is really good and at a great price! These ladies are killing it and I recommend stopping in for some good home cooked food!"
"Loved this place. The food is inexpensive, good and served quickly. I ordered the hot tamale with chili and eggs on top. Coming from AZ it wasn’t the worlds best Tamale but it was still really good and I loved that it was covered in a yummy chili. The homes fries were also delicious. The staff were friendly and made some great recommendations. If you’re in St. Louis this is a must if you like old school diners."
"Went here for breakfast. We were sat quickly. Sat there a while before being waited on. They do not have cream for your coffee, only milk. The food was just ok. Pancakes and biscuits and gravy came from a microwave. The lady cooking the food did not wear gloves while preparing the food. The guy cleaning the tables doubled making food plates. He did not wash his hands before preparing food after cleaning tables. The building itself seemed dirty and run down. We will not be back."
