Reviews of Plato's Closet
"The manager needs to speak w the staff about proper customer service. As someone who manages, its unprofessional and sadly disappointing that the staff here gives unnecessary attitude. Came in to buy something and was just being nice to the girl helping me up front by asking how her day was and got completely ignored. Hire more people who actually want to work"
"This location is a total scam!! (GOOD REVIEWS ARE FAKE AND PAID) I've been to the Schaumburg location, which I liked, and the prices there are reasonable. Today, I decided to check out this location, and to my surprise, everything was extremely expensive, literally like buying new clothes. I even saw a Target t-shirt I own for $10, which proves this place is scamming people. That same t-shirt cost me less than what they are selling it for. I will say I did see a few t-shirts I liked and would have gotten, unfortunately, I won't be paying the price of a brand new shirt for something that is already used and worth less than $8. And to respond to their response; They are not the same prices, clearly who ever runs your location is greedy, immature and very unprofessional."
"The experience I had here at this store was nothing short of infuriating. Not only did they not take any of my clothing, which included BRAND NEW ZARA with tags, but the employees had attitude as well. As I walked in they kept exchanging mean glances with each other, and ignored me repeatedly. It appeared as though they had barely opened the bag, and made me severely doubt that they had sorted through my clothing at all. I’m not enraged about them refusing to buy my perfectly good clothes, but the unwillingness to even entertain my clothes and their judgmental attitudes. After doing more research on this store, it became apparent that their management just defends the actions of its nasty employees. Most replies to customers leaving dissatisfied reviews demonstrate a level of immaturity that is mirrored in the employees. This store is unwilling to change their ways, and chooses to become ridiculously defensive instead of being proactive. Instead of apologizing and taking accountability, they accuse those reviewers of slander or reply “You seem sad and certainly are confused on the truth. I honestly hope you feel better and find joy in life.” What kind of business model is that? Can’t wait to get a reply from Galen, I need a good laugh "
"I usually really enjoy shopping at Plato's Closet; big finds for reasonable prices. But not here. When I came into the store, I was not greeted with a smile but a tone. The workers looked to be in high school of age and did not seem very friendly. They were sitting behind the counter talking to each other while sorting clothes and not helping customers at the counter right away. I donated some items and was told it would be about a 2-3 hour wait until I got an estimate back. I was NEVER told I had to come pick my money up right away. They texted me about an hour later, after I was already 30 minutes back home, and asked me to come in to receive my money for my donations. I explained that I was a college student and needed to come back when I return for break... they said it was "in the policy" that I had to pick up my money right away. They then decided to donate my items without paying me. Do not recommend this location to shop at or donate to."
