Reviews of Johnson's Corner Restaurant
"Called ahead and took 16 people. They sat us in the front dining room. We were noisy so it was a good place for us so we didn’t bother diners in main dining area. Everything was set up when we arrived. Menus were given to us and I looked it over. There was several good things to pick from. Would I get the catfish and fries? A Lenten special there’s about 8 long strips rolled in probably Andy’s seasoning. Definitely cornmeal based. It was fried perfectly. Flaky white fish. Crunchy on outside. Piles on rye bread and sharing the plate with french fries. The fries were crinkle fries, and they were fried perfectly as well. Accompanying it was a wonderful Italian salad with h fresh veggies. I started the meal with wings h fresh hot coffee and fresh crispy cold water. Finished with Diet Pepsi since they have only Pepsi products. While waiting they provide pub cheese and crackers. Some people had the famous grilled tenderloin. It came with rye also. Some had cod and some had white fish. Don’t know what it was but everyone said it was good. One person had a pony shoe and the cheese fries looked awesome. Have never had dessert here because we’re always full. They do have cold draft beer which I love. Waitress was nice. Was it perfect? No. Cups are plastic. I never like that. Salad came with the meal. Had to wait for condiments, but it was all minor and we loved it and would do it again."
"My first time ordering fried chicken dinner to go. I loved it. Crispy breading, cooked perfectly and the baked potato was the right size. Thanks Johnson Corner."
"Good, casual place to eat, this was our first time. Dedicated parking lot directly across the road (State Street). Great menu, lots of variety, and food was great. It had more dining area than bar, but the bar was nice and cozy. Friendly, older, mixed crowd, well heeled, mostly dining. Service was great, place was clean, older building and furnishings. Brick oven pizza was great (thin but not cracker thin) and not your usually corporate pizza. Huge pork tenderloin sandwich, crinkle fries- a specialty. We saw a plate of HUGE onion rings being delivered (we were envious) and two enormous salads. SiriusXM channel 25 for music, we really enjoyed dinner there, will be back, and would recommend."
"At first I walked in and saw that it felt like a quaint neighborhood bar. I was pleased to see they had dining outside of the main bar that gave it a family atmosphere. My first time visiting, the food felt like I was eating out of a cafeteria, the fries were barely cooked enough to be edible, I was charged $0.75 for a tiny cup of BBQ sauce. Service was great, server was very kind. Restaurant needs cleaned and updated, saw sauce stain in my booth. Not saying I won't go there again, but I'll probably choose elsewhere."
"All 3 of us got the fried pork tenderloin sandwich with fries, let me just say they are HUGE! Service is fast and friendly. Prices are okay for lunch or dinner."
