"The staff were friendly and had a good atmosphere to sit and eat. There are a couple of options for vegetarians. They ran out of flat bread so we had to order a sub. We ordered veggie and spinach pesto from the "Not breakfast" menu. We also ordered an Americano which was ok. The food was good but it was very sweet. We were not sure if it was some topping or if they added sugar syrup. It's a decent place to eat in Herrin."
"I have been twice now and will continue to go. This place reminds me of a small coffee shop or diner back east somewhere. It’s nostalgic. Places like this is what is missing from the region. I’ve tried a cinnamon roll, biscuits and gravy and two separate occasions I had the French toast. With the biscuits and gravy, personally, I liked that the meat was added to the top of the gravy instead of cooked cooked with the gravy. That’s not something I see a lot so it was unique. The gravy itself was kinda bland but the biscuits were nice. The cinnamon roll was okay. It didn’t have any overpowering sweetness like some rolls do. The first time I had the French I thought it was pretty good. It has that home cooked flavorful taste. It reminded me of the kinda french toast a relative would make if the relative was known for having the best french toast in the family. It’s not the best French toast in Southern Illinois but it’s definitely worth giving a second ordering. Which I did. The second order was not as good as the first and I’d say that it tanked the score. I can’t speculate about the cause for the decrease in quality but I can sympathize. So, I’ll be back. Soon"
"I gotta be honest. Visually this place is very nice and appealing. But the rest was a let down. We ordered our food and right away they forgot my main dish. Got it pretty quick but a few minutes later we realized they forgot my son's side order. It came super fast and cold. Assuming it was left on the counter. The biscuits for the biscuits and gravy were very hard and not great. The French toast sandwich I had was very good ( even though it was forgotten). The rest of the family said food was OK. But with the amount we paid for 4 people the food should have been a lot better and orders not forgotten. Comment if you want the price otherwise I'll leave it at expensive."
"Such a cool place! Delicious food and the customer service was outstanding! I will be back to have another Italian special sandwich!"
