"Decided to check out the oldest brick house this side of the Mississippi. We got there about 5:30 on a Saturday. We were seated quickly and asked what we wanted to drink and that's basically it. Apparently they have a buffet but we didn't know because it was our first time there. We weren't given any menus or told to go get our food from the buffet. The buffet was a salad bar with fried chicken, corn, green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy. Again a menu would have been nice in case we didn't want the buffet. Others had menus but we did not. Couldn't find a waitress to even get one. Finally when the waitress comes she hands us a check for a different table and proceeds to tell us that it is our check. It had pork chops and tons of sides on it. We explained we were only given the buffet option and she looked extremely confused. Side note.....there wasn't any background music playing and the place was relatively quiet except from hearing forks and knives scrap plates. One and done for us."
"As we entered the building the staff greeted us with a friendly hello and told us to sit where you please. Came right over to us with menus and asked what we'd like to drink. The setting of The restaurant was very pleasant and had some old time memorabilia hanging on the wall and sitting on the floor. To us the atmosphere in the desert alone was well worth the stop."
"I'm not happy with this and therefore do not recommend it. The food was a little below average. There is a buffet with just 12 items. The mashed potatoes tasted as if they were instant. I have to assume that is why there were only a small handful of people there. Half the tables were cordoned off so as not to be used. This was supposed to be the oldest brick building west of the Mississippi, I had very high expectations; big let down. Also, there was no music, and the few people there were wispering. Very odd."
"Great little restaurant with kind staff and yummy food! My friend and I popped in on a weekday afternoon and everything on the lunch buffet looked fresh, despite the place being almost empty. I had the salad bar which was fresh and loaded with topping choices. French and ranch dressings were both delicious. My friend had the bacon cheeseburger and she said it was cooked well. The portion was huge and the fries were crispy and fresh."
"We Ordered Kettle beef and Chicken take out there for lunch for the first time. Had to be sure to take the time for a review. Everything was Absolutely delicious and had very friendly carry out service also. I can’t wait to be able to dine in this beautiful old time restaurant."
