Reviews of MAA Quarry Oaks
"They don’t just have cockroaches, they have gigantic cockroaches, rodent sized, with wings that fly and attack you. Sends shivers down my spine every time. This apartment should be your last option. Units are old, poorly maintained, and overpriced. I just signed a new lease in a new building for a lower price than here. 100% look anywhere else before you even tour this place. When my air conditioner broke for months they just kept telling me it wasn’t broken even though the temperature inside my unit was 86.5 degrees. I purchased a portable air conditioner at my own expense and installed. When I moved in, I spent days shampooing my carpets pulling loads of hair/fur out of them trying to get the stench out. The worst part is I know MAA is probably going to try and charge me for dirty carpets they never cleaned up from the last tenant when I move out. I wouldn’t call it a gated community since the gate is consistently broken, so anyone can enter. Packages stolen every day. Very scary, I don’t feel safe. Water damaged unit, asked repeatedly to test for mold and property manager Daryl refused to answer and very rudely said, “respectfully, you have received your answer”. So I guess they have no interest in testing for mold. I cut my arm open on their “luxury” dishwasher that has a gaping hole between the washer and the counter and broken hinge sticking out. They didn’t even say sorry, just told me I don’t need to email them about that, so rude! Also those countertops shown were described to me as unit with “upgraded countertops”. I’d hate to see what the upgrade was from. When you sign a lease for an apartment that isn’t immediately available, they tell you that you can’t see it because it’s occupied. This is how they get you to sign a lease for dirty broken apartments. They show you a model then lease you a unit worse than you could imagine. You’ve been warned! Update: Their response via email about this concern, a/c problems, and fees I don’t understand was: “The statements you are making qualify as being unfair and misleading, which as stated in the lease agreement is a violation”. I don’t believe that they are committed to turning it around."
"Stay away from this apartment complex. The units are old and you hear every single noise your neighbor makes. Even if someone is simply just talking outside in the parking lot you can hear them. One of the exit gates always stays broken and stays open for days. The trash compacter near building 19 is always always breaking which in return they put a big dumpster in the parking lot until it’s fixed. They’re always trying to fix things that don’t need to be fixed and end up causing a nuisance in the complex. They increase the rent a ridiculous amount each month and simply not worth the price you’re paying to stay here. Only good thing about this place is maintenance is quick to come fix any issues in the apartment."
"My wife and I have been apart of this community for years, but when we recently began the process of adopting a little one we knew we would need a larger space than we had. Unsure of where to start, we reached out to the leasing office and their quick and friendly response eased worries right away. Everyone we dealt with was so nice throughout the process. When it came to submitting application and making the move official, Megan worked with us and she was truly a standout. She went out of her way to make sure every step of the transferring process went smoothly, patiently answered all our questions, and was always more than happy to chat with us about anything that left us puzzled or concerned. Thanks to her, the whole leasing team, and the amazing maintenance crew, we now have a home that's exactly what we needed!"
"Went to visit my friend at this complex and I will never go back let alone rent an apartment here. While I was using his bathroom a big roach almost landed right on me and I just had to sit there. To top it off I couldn’t even flush the toilet afterwards. Turns out he emailed the front office about it last weekend and they never even responded. They’re definitely not luxury apartments. I felt bad to leave my friend there knowing that he moved to the area to escape the city life we knew back in Philadelphia and truthfully after just a few days I felt like the subways of Philadelphia was cleaner than his over priced apartment. Truly a shame. I’ve seen projects in the lowest of income neighborhoods of Philly that have better living conditions than this complex. I spoke to a few neighbors of his and it seems the general consensus is that management just simply doesn’t care about the issues let alone finding a long term solution for them. I felt sorry to even leave my friend there when I left. Do better. Treat your tenants better. You can afford it."
"I'd give a 4.5 star review. I lived here for 2 years and I enjoyed it. My apartment had upgrades like the cabinets and floors. I had carpet in my living room, dining room and bedroom. There's minor issues that does occur from time to time but overall my experience was good. Nothing is perfect so give grace. Maintenance is top tier for sure. They respond quickly to service requests. The location is great. Neighbors wasn't too bad. Mostly quiet neighborhood. I love the different community events they have every month. The building I stayed in didn't have issues with package thieves. I would recommend these apartments for the most part. Also, do expect a rent increase every renewal that's likely to be $200 & up."
