Reviews of The Block on 25th East
"Presence of management or any customer service personnel is non-exist at this The Block location. The property is absolutely disgusting with hardly any maintenance in the public spaces whatsoever. Right as you walk in, you can see the Amazon Hub and no presence of secure delivery management. On multiple instances, I have seen random packages laid around the floor or on top of the Hub. I have had delivery drivers ask me for assistance entering the building and where to drop off packages. One time, there was an entire pile of Amazon packages and/or packaging trash scattered all across the entrance lobby. Secondly, the elevator has been out of service for at least three weeks now since winter break. The property management has given few updates on the situation and have no clear timeline on the repairs that need to be made. The elevator is unusable as of February 1st. This location is absolutely INACCESSIBLE to anyone with disabilities or physical injuries. I have had to assist a visiting friend on crutches up five flights of stairs, who had to have someone come drive and pick them up due to the physical stress that strained their body. Finally, let's not forget the abhorrent conditions of the staircases, where there is food trash sitting for weeks. Even worse, broken glass from a shattered bottle that has been sitting there for weeks now at the first steps at the side entrance, which I, myself, and other people have nearly stepped right into with open shoes. Why is it that American Campus or Blackstone, the "world's largest alternative asset management" company that acquired the former for $12.8 billion, can operate 10+ property locations at UT West Campus and charge absurd rates to students, but are so incompetent at managing the sanitation, safety, and functionality of resources in these properties? Despite my complaints, I will give it to The Block on 25th East for their accurate advertising of the "We Allow Pets!" sign at the staircase entrance and seeing an enormous pile of dog poop right as you walk in! Do not live here unless you want non-existent management, maintenance, or any form of actionable support!"
"This apartment has horrible management and regard for safety. 4 times this semester we've had nails, pieces of metal, oil, and huge gutters fall on our balcony which could cause major injuries. There was no notice that there would be roof construction that day or that there would be potential safety concerns for us to prepare for. The manager for the building did not take the issue very seriously even after seeing pictures and admitted the same thing had been going on at other locations with no action being taken."
"I had a wonderful experience working with Zaneta at the leasing office. She went the extra mile making sure that all of my questions were clearly answered so that my roommates and I could get the best rates of every building to the specific unit. She even stayed past the office hours to help me internally transfer. To be honest, I've had poor experiences with other leasing agents at American Campus before, so speaking with someone experienced and knowledgeable left a great impression."
"Unresponsive to safety and health issues. Black mold in air ducts. Elevator inoperable for three weeks and multiple cars broken into in garage last night. Steer clear. Don’t lease at American Campus Communities properties."
"Don’t live here. Moved in and everything is broken: my toilet, stove, washing machine, ect. Mold in the vents when I moved it, took them nearly three weeks to solve. Our apartment flooded twice because of the broken washing machine and it took them days to fix it each time. Only nice thing about this place is the moderately sized rooms and cheap price."
