"I visited this restaurant on a Sunday at 4:00pm upon arrival I was the only customer there. My first observations were that all the tables and seats needed wiped down. There wasn’t a place to sit that didn’t have food on the table chairs or booth seats. I still decided to give it a try…the kid who was working was very awkward and seemed like he didn’t quite know what he was doing. He also was sitting at the bar eating while I was sitting in the booth still waiting to order. The cooks I could hear yelling in the kitchen and making weird sounds like bird calls or something. Let’s move on to the food that I ordered. I ordered the cheese tortellini Alfredo which had no flavor whatsoever and was very watery. The sauce was definitely heated in the microwave….the middle was warm and everything else was Luke warm. Now the bill that I initially got was $15 even that’s with tax when I went to pay the new bill was $15.45. I asked what the .45 charge was and the kid couldn’t tell me. So let’s say 100 people visit your establishment everyday for the year and you charge .45 to each bill. That come out to about $17,000 per year for a random charge. If you are going to add money to the bill when it’s time to pay that should before hand and disclosed what it’s for. I feel like if that the case where it’s a charge in every bill you are stealing $17,000 a year from your customers. Anyway I will never return to eat there and I will be telling my coworkers about this experience. There is a lot of money that stays in that hotel next door that you could possibly be missing out on."
"Bread sticks tasted better through the pizza oven then the other way cooked. Our server Jess was amazing as usual."
"Our server, Emily, was super nice. The cheese-stuffed breadsticks appetizer, my Baked Mac-and-Cheese with ample ham and chicken, and my wife's Baked Lasagna were out of this world. Plus the cook delivered on my wife's special request for a no-lettuce salad. Don't worry the tomatoes and olives are under the cheese. She assured me it was delicious."
"Joe's Pizza in Centralia, IL. This place replaced Rosati's last year. Had a dinner salad, Fried/breaded Portabello Mushrooms, and Stuffed Chicago style deep dish pizza with mushroom and hamburger (took plenty home with me.) Pizza sauce is on the sweet side, but that's not a complaint. They will tell you they gave a full bar but it isn't (don't ask for a Mojito), but they've got a decent selection of draft beer. I recommend if you're not up for drinking alcohol to order the Fitz's Rootbeer. It's not easy finding places with it unless you're a lot closer to St. Louis."
"Joe's had only been open for a couple of days when we visited. As with all new restaurants, it was rather chaotic. Upon arrival we were notified there was about a 25 minute wait for a table, which turned out to be a fairly accurate estimate. There was no one at the host station and as customers continued to arrive, other diners who were just arriving were pushing their way ahead of those of us who had been waiting. Once we were seated, our server arrived right away and was fantastic! Even though they were very busy, she was prompt and checked back with us frequently for refills or anything else we might need. When one of the items was incorrect, she had a replacement out to us right away. We all ordered the All You Can Eat Spaghetti, which came with a salad and a family size plate of breadsticks, and we shared a Joe-Bolli and some Cheese Fries. Everything was good, although the spaghetti sauce was very thin and watery. The cheese fries were hands down the best I've ever had--the bacon was cooked perfectly. As simple as it was, the side salad was great! The veggies were fresh and crisp and I am looking forward to trying some of their other salads. I think I'll give it a couple of weeks for the staff to settle into their positions and I expect my next trip to our new Joe's Pizza to be even better!"
