Reviews of Berkshire Riverview Apartments
"Only complements for this property location and inside area maintenance and cleaning. Definitely good value for the price. Besides the property itself, the community integration and interactions is a major plus."
"Overall this is a very clean and nice apt complex. Quite large too! The sense of community I felt present when I first moved in seems to have faded a bit. However, that’s just my experience. I was in building D (3rd floor) and the one thing I never got used to was the sounds of traffic, cars, sirens, etc 24/7. So If you’re sensitive to that or have a hint you might, I would look at the other 3 buildings (ABC).Especially Bldg A or B"
"This place was nice to live at; even though I had a lot of maintenance issues the maintenance team was good in solving the issues. Jenn & Delma from leasing office were always helpful and nice. Both of them were super alert and attentive to detail. Jenn has helped me with so many of my packages - super appreciative to her for that. However Thalia never seemed to have a helpful/welcoming attitude and never was able to relay messages properly or help me with a single thing. Anytime I would have an issue with something and she was in the leasing office/picked up the phone she would be very slow or never knew the answer. One time I needed urgent help with something & even asked her to get another person who knew the answer to call me back and she never did it - this was super frustrating as I kept waiting & had to keep calling back myself."
"I've been living here for about four months now, and honestly, I've got nothing but good things to say about Berkshire. I was a bit worried because I'd seen some not-so-great reviews before I moved in, but I haven't had a single negative experience since I got here. First off, my car feels super safe in the garage behind the main gate. The whole place is pretty secure, and whenever I've had a maintenance request, they've been on it right away. They really go the extra mile to keep things looking sharp – the parking lot is always clean, the carpets get vacuumed regularly, and the amenities are in tip-top shape. There are quite a few dogs around, but cleanliness has not been an issue at all. So, all in all, I've had a great time here at Berkshire. The maintenance team and leasing staff have been awesome and really helpful. No complaints from me!"
"Lived here for 2 years. Riverview stole my security & pet deposit after move out. One of Riverview's staff members told my fiance and I previously that we didn't need to spackle over holes in the wall & that we could leave them. After moving out, we were charged $443 because they spackled / painted over the holes.... When I confronted Riverview via email, the girl (Delma) who I was writing back and forth with just dropped off and stopped replying...because you know, damage control. Instead of just owning up to their mistake they forced me to foot the bill. That's just slimy. Don't be fooled by their "professional" personalities in person. They won't solve real issues when they matter. --------------------------------------------------------------- Aside from that, I'll give my most honest opinion on this place based on my experience. PROS - Location. Being able to walk the trails & boardwalk + 10 minutes walking distance to Rainey St & 15 minutes to downtown - 1 BR APT. Roomy 1095 sq ft with a full bath & half bath. --------------------------------------------------------------- CONS - Leaking fridge, broken door handle & TP dispenser upon move in. No new filters for fridge. Two lights went out in the first 2 months. They don't do real maintenance prior to move-in. - You can hear dogs barking through the walls. - The dog poop epidemic here is unacceptable. It's not uncommon to find dog poop in the stairwells, elevators, or parking garage. It's all over backyard, gated areas, and side areas of Riverview. There was dog poop & vomit in D stairwell for 3 months straight. Never cleaned; it just shriveled up and dried. I bet you it's still there. When it rains, the dog poop smell is absolutely atrocious. There will inevitably come a day when you step in dog poop; it's just destined to happen... - Riverview isn't smoke-free as advertised. This is BS considering I'm paying for this luxury. People smoke off their balconies and throw their cig buds wherever they please. This especially sucks when you want to open your balcony door to let fresh air into your apartment and you're forced to smell cig smoke. One morning I woke up and found my dead plant had caught on fire and had been scorched. My chain smoking neighbor above me had dropped his cig buds into my potted plants. My entire balcony was covered in cig buds, I kid you not. This was an unnecessary fire hazard because they don't enforce rules here. - Coffee Machine was frequently broken or out of coffee ( I gave up drinking their coffee as it got tiring and time-consuming having the remind the workers to do their job ). - Backyard & Dog Park area is so mucky / muddy that I stopped taking my dog back there. Got fed up with having to clean my dog's paws & shoes after every outing back there. They have a poor irrigation system so it's constantly muddy even when it hasn't rained. - Their online support is a hit or miss. It's either extremely fast or they don't respond at all. It's on the con list for all the times they didn't respond to me regarding important issues. - Rent increase was $145 to renew; their staff told me it typically ranges between $60 - $120. Meanwhile, another girl in the complex who renewed two months prior to when my lease was ending only had to pay an $80 increase for the same apartment. Unfair. - Cares Program sucked, IMO. They mostly served unhealthy food & drinks... like Chick Fil A & had cheesy activities. Tenants should be able to opt out of this and just receive lower rent instead. - TV was broken near grill area for months before they fixed it. - Riverview spent more time renovating their office space, painting walls, and putting rocks in the ground than actually bettering the community despite many emails regarding issues of this complex. - Driving into the complex sucks. People who don't live here hogging parking spots on the weekend suck. - Beware of creepy people who lurk the E. Riverside Drive. Lots of drunks, druggies, and violent homeless people + lots of car wrecks."
