Bakers & Hale

"I had the beef skewers with melted Blue Cheese Sauce, mashed potatoes and sliced zucchini. I ordered the skewers medium rare and they came out perfect however there really wasn't much taste to the meat or the Blue cheese sauce. The mashed potatoes and vegetable were very good however. I also had a cesear salad which was very good. My wife ordered the fried mozzarella wedges and they came out cold. She also ordered their Broccoli cheese soup and it was cold and really didn't taste like Broccoli. The place was very loud as well. Our server did a great job making sure our drinks were refilled and always checked in with us to see if we needed anything else. We did get our food very fast which was nice. Place was crowded which was nice to see, however we won't be going back."

"They had some good wings that were tinder. The brisket I won’t get ever again (I like some meat with my brisket). It was all fat with a touch of meat on the edges. I was looking to have some catering done every week but I don’t think the place can be consistent. Service was ok except one older waitress who was a less than welcoming."

"My fried chicken was the Sunday special. It was so dry and tough that it was almost inedible. I should have complained, but I just didn't feel like it. My friend's food was much better. The service was very good and the atmosphere was pleasant. Not sure we will return if in the area."

"My wife and I went out to eat and the restaurant we went to had a 2 hour wait. So we went to Bakers & Hale for the first time. The place was super busy but we were seated right away. I ordered the hamburger horseshoe. I lived in Springfield IL for 22 years. The horseshoe is a Springfield original dish, all non-chain restaurants have their own version. My fav has always been the buffalo chicken shoe from one of the restaurants. This has now changed! Bakers & Hale's shoe has house cut fries that are amazing, an awesome queso cheese sauce and their famous bacon jam. Absolute best horseshoe I've had. My wife had the gyro bowl and loved it. We ordered take out a week later and got the same thing:)"

"A little out, but the place was great looking. In side is very nice and the staff was very friendly. We had the Philly and nachos, oh my God the nachos are a 2 person or more meal. So be aware. All portions are large. Good selection of beers and drinks."
