Reviews of Highway 47 Café
"Pretty rough experience. Went with my daughter on an evening. There were 6 tables occupied. The teenage waitress was overwhelmed. Bad from the start. Ordered a coke and a dr pepper. Got 2 cokes. I ordered the steak. Daughter had a burger and fries. Waitress said out of baked potatoes so i ordered mashed potatoes oddly enough it came out with a baked potato. My salad did not come out until after the steak. My kids burger was ok. The steak was ordered medium rare. It was a nice large size which took up most of the plate. The problem was 3- things- the steak was dark brown, like well done yet it was drowning in juice which is odd. What made it inedible was the fact it was both freezer burnt, and putrid- like spoiled putrid. Never got drink refills. $42 later and I leave hungry. If you wanna make it in Winfield you will need to do better or will fail like the 2 before you. I take blame only for gambling on your $23 steak. I will not return. Subway got expensive but at least i would not have left hungry."
"This lovely Cafe just opened recently in Winfield, MO. It is where the LightHouse Restaurant used to be. They opened up the wall between the old bar, and restaurant. I've been there several times and have always had great tasting food with large portions! The servers were always friendly, quick to wait on you, and professional. I've had the catfish, meatloaf, pork chops, chicken, cheeseburger and fries. They have all been excellent. I ordered sweet tea, once it wasn't up to par. They brewed a new batch, because I brought this to their attention. Ozzy and his staff have went out of their way to make my meal time a memorable experience. From great food, to pleasant atmosphere, I have enjoyed eating at this establishment and will return."
"We tried hwy 47 cafe tonight and it was not good. The “black angus” burger is just a frozen patty with no cheese or toppings, fries were soggy, had a bowl of ham and beans that was mainly broth. The broth had a good flavor. Ruben sandwich was awful!!!!! I couldn’t even eat it. The meat had a really strong and old taste. Tenderloin and mashed potatoes did not have much flavor. Will not go back. Very disappointed."
"Definitely a casual restaurant they had liver and onions for my friend and pork tenderloin for my husband unfortunately the steak that was ordered was tougher than shoe leather but was eaten had good company and great laughs over a good meal"
"This restaurant is brand new, only open about a week and I was impressed with how well it was running! I came here with some family members because I really wanted to try the menu. We were sat right away and drinks came out quickly. I ordered the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and side salad. The fried chicken was cooked perfectly and crispy but was a bit salty. Mashed potatoes melted in mouth - do know that if you order white gravy it is the sausage gravy used for breakfast. The salad was large and the ranch was delicious! One family member got a special of pork ribs and WOW we were all impressed with them, another family member got a huge breakfast platter and it also was impressive! The space itself is very open so this means its either REALLY loud in here or so quiet every other table can hear you breath lol... I don't love that, but it is what it is. Service was pretty good and the whole staff was working together well. This is very much a cafe vibe - comfort food at great prices. I know I will def be back and I highly recommend you give them a try."
