Reviews of Fuji and Pho Cafe
"Called at 8:40 to place a to go order for two rolls. Got told they are no longer taking to go orders. Asked if I could just come in to place the order and got hung up on. So I went there and the open sign was still on. Went in and was told the kitchen was closed. Told him he should probably change his closing time so people don’t try to order. Your closing time should be when you stop taking orders. Asked what time I should put in my google review and he said he would do it for me tonight since I only wanted two rolls. While I waited the phone rang, he answered and yelled. “I can’t hear you” and hung up. Food is great, prices not so much especially for the kind of service you get…."
"So I was all set for a nice lunch. Until the check came. 3 people. $56 before taxes. The check came with an automatic 20% tip. I double checked the Menu and the door and all over to make sure I didn't miss a sign. No. They did not disclose that they charge a 20% gratuity on all checks. In addition now there will be a 3.5% discount for cash. No. They list cash prices and charge extra for using the card. My $56 plus tax lunch for three turned into $76. And then there was an additional line in the receipt for yet another gratuity... For What?!?! I didn't dispute the credit card charge. They worded it badly but they did disclose it, kinda.... however, if you are charging an automatic tip you have to disclose it. When I said no, they told me they already finalized the charge. They only refunded it, in cash, when I told them I would dispute it with my credit card and broke out my camera to document the menu and disclosures. It's sad honestly. I work in a tipped industry. I know and value that little bit of extra appreciation. Usually I don't argue when there is an automatic tip, if it is disclosed. This was a surprise, and not an appreciated one. The food was good. But. Not again. I get it that money is tight. But be honest. Don't hide fees. No surprises. Fuji lost a customer."
"The sashimi is outstanding and fresh. The Pho is delicious. The broth is liquid love. I highly recommend Fuji. I wanted to try both. So I spent more than normally I would. Worth it!"
"It was my first time dinning in. The food was definitely (no surprise there) better while sitting down instead of takeout/delivery. Unfortunately my food had inconsistent temperatures. The vegetables and rice were plenty warm, almost hot where the chicken was lukewarm. The steak was relatively cold as if it was cooked first and removed from the grill while the dish was finished. (Hibachi combo) Pur server definitely seemed bothered by waiting on our table. -1 for experience with service, -1 for the microwaving of my order instead remaking it. Creating the rice to become dry and overcooked."
"The food was an absolutely delight, great way to spend a date night. Our server was very attentive I really wish I would have gotten his name but he was on top of things. I highly recommend the boba they serve it's is refreshing and pairs well with their sushi if you are looking for a non alcoholic way to cleanse the pallet between dishes."
