About the Business
Located at 2821 Canal Street in Houston, Texas, New Hope Housing Canal is more than just a place to live. With a whole-person approach, we have been restoring hope for thousands of Houstonians for over three decades. Our innovative Housing Services model has helped over 13,000 individuals and families find stability in safe and affordable apartment homes.
At New Hope Housing, we understand that safe and affordable housing is essential for individuals and families facing housing instability. That's why we go beyond just providing a roof over their heads. With the support of generous organizations like the Children's Environmental Literacy Foundation and CORT Furniture, we are able to provide much-needed furniture and household supplies to warmly welcome new residents into our communities.
One of our residents, Kristina, shares her gratitude for the resources and support she received when facing homelessness. She found a safe and affordable home for her family at New Hope Housing Reed, where our commitment to going beyond just housing sets us apart.
Join us for an Earth Week "Walk-and-Roll" event on April 27th to explore the Urban Prairie and Reed Park. Lace up your sneakers and bring your wheels for a fun and active day out in the community. At New Hope Housing Canal, we are dedicated to helping residents succeed and communities thrive.

"It's been a wonderful living experience. The staff is wonderful, the growns are are manicured, they take care of where we live we live of where we live"
"It's peaceful, clean, and comfortable. This is what you make it. There's very good neighbors in the building and surrounding areas. The Metro bus #20 is right around the corner going either downtown or towards the transit center. Plus there's connecting lines like the #29 and the #28. Plus you have several good restaurants right in front of the complex. There's also one more Metro bus line. #80. And it takes you right through The University of Houston campus. The #28 will take you right to Walmart on S. Wayside."
"I have lived here for 3 years, it's better than where I was living, in the streets, & at my age, it was no fun, I turn 71 years ago the end of next month, glad I am off the streets."
"I have lived here for 4 yrs. and I love it. The staff is amazing. It's affordable and everything is included in my rent. Less stress. I am very happy!"
"A decent place to live for those who need a little help. The apartments are small by design so as to not overwhelm the easily effected. There is always a class for those in recovery, and a smile for those who had a hard day. Kenny is on the desk during the evenings and he is there to help and keep the residents safe. A very nice man!!"
